  1. Dude i read this article before your vid in like 2 min. How on God's earth did you manage to stretch it for 11min is beyond me.

  2. Good.

RD is not a position to be trading away.

    Especially after drafting Demidov.

    Mailloux
    Reinbacher
    Bogdan
    Barron

RD is pretty light as far as prospects

LD is log jammed should be trading Matheson & Harris

  3. No matter how I look at it, no matter how many times I look at it, I still question a trade for Zegras.

  4. If I had the choice, though, I would trade the likes of Harris and Dvorack and maybe a pick. Not Mailloux.

  5. This headline is misleading. I read an article that a user on the Puck Pedia website proposed a deal that would see the Canadiens acquire Zegras for Mailloux and Hage. What this has to do with Hughes and the Canadiens is nonsense.

  6. Malloux will get traded, we all know this for what he did back in the day, too much spot light here.

  7. Zegras will be a star not a super star, at least in my opinion, same with Mailoux but he is a RD so there is added benefit there, a 2nd round pick is a low% of getting an actual player, I'm glad Kent said no on this one, would of reminded me way too much of a certain Drouin deal

  8. no hab fan should want zegras even for free. hes not a winning player like at all. hes a skinny trick shot artist.

  9. I wouldn't trade Mailloux for Zegras let alone add our pick. Glad this didn't happen. Hughes probably changed his mind after getting his paws on Demidov. Zegras is probably going to remain a 60 points player. Let's see what Dach does instead. He's got more upside if he can stay healthy.

  10. Hughes will wait until next year, their are much better RFA next year. and the Habs are at least 2 years away from being a regular play off team. Smart GMs do not trade stud demen

  11. If Montreal was not able to move up in the draft for Hage, then maybe they would have gone for this hypothetical situation. Once they were able to move up, that is when they would have backed out.

  12. This needs to stop now if the duck haven’t trading him by now those rumors to stop

  13. L 10:38 look if this true like the Lego said it’s not the big reports for the Habs I would be happy it didn’t go thru, honestly we’re fight for laine so to aquire Zegras it’s not worth it.. now if down the line we’re in finally ready to be contenders watch the flood gates open for every player saying we’re not worth it let’s see what Kent does then

  14. If that's true, Zegras is a bunch of trouble while Mailloux will be a 50-60 pts D you'll see. He will be better than Guhle who is over rated imo and his contract is a ripoff.

  15. That's because Hughes knows that Mailloux has more value than Zegras. Mailloux will be Montreal's best d-man and one of the best in the league. Hage is a future Pacioretty.

  16. This is not a good offer
Zegras isn't worth Maillioux. Then the Habs draft Hage. Glad they turned it down. Maillioux is going to surprise a lot of people. Hage will be solid

  17. Good for him. Im not against the idea of grabbing zegras, but definitely not if the price is logan mailloux

Edit : i can see a world where we trade a 2nd and a 3rd for zegras (because hes been very open about wanting to play for the rangers, so in 2 years he can walk away as a ufa. This isnt a long term trade) For demidov's rookie year, that would give you a top 6 of
    Demidov Suzuki Slafkovsky
    Caufield Dach Zegras

That year is when you push for a first playoff run, and try to convince zegras to stay, altho he might fall to 3rd line eventually idk if he'd accept that

  18. Congrats on EA cover, but is he a winner when it comes to the NHL. I don't see a competent gm going out and giving the Ducks a haul for Zegras. He's got talent with the puck, but does he add anything to a team without it ? I bet every team in the league has been called about Zegras, and the call probably goes ok Pat, we will take him at 50% of what you're asking. Nobody wants to give up top dollar for a flashy center who is probably more concerned about making the highlight reel and his hair than he does about playing hockey the right way.

  19. You never hear from the Ducks in these rumors. By definition Zegras is better compared to any of the Habs top prospects. Therefore this trade doesn’t come close to what the Ducks would expect in a Zegras trade. When Zegras is an 80 point player next year every pundit will just pretend the criticism never happened. I don’t believe the Habs have the trade assets necessary to trade for Zegras unless they trade from the top of the prospect system and from the roster.

  20. Hughes should trade Mailloux only for McTavish. Imo he is the best of the Ducks prospects. Meanwhile, Mailloux is getting better every year and might be a future top 2 D-man if he is allowed to fully develop. Don't forget that he missed an entire year of junior hockey, he is 1 yr behind others his age in terms of playing years.

  21. If its true it was the right choice
Mailloux will be a top 4 tough and has a scoring touch similar to Jeff Petry or Matheson could be a 20 goal scorer and 40-50 point player

  22. It's more of a case with Anaheim trying to rehabilitate Zegras , his game and value suffered last year. So if this works either the Ducks keep him for a rebuild or trade him for more assets.

  23. have we learn nothing about trading a prospect without seeing him play in the nhl , sergachev for drouin or mcdonagh for gomez , we need a free agent in 2 to 3 years relax and enjoy the new montreal canadian .

  24. Habs mgmt would not trade anything of real value for Zegras and for good reason… Maybe try the Leafs he fits their player profile perfectly and this is why they have no playoff success

  25. Pretty sure kent thought Demidov would not be available at 5 and he might have picked the best RD available hence making mailloux expandable. But i all changed when Demidov was available.

  26. Good thing he didn't accept this.

Your giving up a possible FUTURE 30-40 point physical defenseman like a Brady Skjei with the goal scoring and physicality. And Michael Hage who is considered a celling of a 2nd liner who can get 30-50 points.

Your getting Zegras with health problems and being a defensive liability. He's also coming off a down year. Probably a 60-75 point all offense forward. And the 2nd probably is a fringe NHLer.
