  1. Canā€™t remember if yā€™all did a recap of the predictions from last season? If you havenā€™t would love to see it soon

  2. I like the offensive signings Forbort and Desharnais are just roster spot fillers that hopefully wonā€™t be too awful imo

  3. I really like the Heinan signing and the Debrusk one is prolly 2 yrs too long for me but as for the first 5 yrs it will be acceptable. So I'll let the future me worry about the latter 2 yrs, but for now yeah I'm quite happy with what the Canucks Org has done.

  4. The Canucks have taken 2 steps back ,get ready for another missed playoffs in 2025! Really how did anyone they got even compare to Lindholm let alone Zadarov?? Everyone thinks Toch's got this master plan but in reality it will take a few seasons minimum now to get the Canucks back to where they got to in 2024 and 3-4 seasons and all the right moves to get them close to a western conference final. DeBrusk is good but we seen him crumble under pressure and he has cold streaks.

  5. All these players make for a harder to play against team, with an overall increase to depth offense.. I too was wanting the big name winger to play with Petey, but the more I think about it and shift the lines around I like the mixā€¦ all Tocchet style players..
We already have the winger for Petey in Boeser.. if you add Debrusk to that line I think it will really popā€¦ ā€œbut you canā€™t breakup Miller/Boeserā€! Why? Yes Miller and Brock play well together but so does Petey and Brock. Miller can elevate Joshua and Garland more than Blueger or Suter canā€¦

Itā€™s about slotting what you have into their correct spots.. IMO a lineup of
    1)Debrusk/Petey/Boeser
    2)Joshua/Miller/Garland
    3)Heinen/Suter/Hoglander
    4)Sherwood/Blueger/Podkolzin

Makes sense to me.. Hoglander isnā€™t a top 6 player he struggles against the tougher matchups, majority of his production was in the bottom 6.

  6. Hmm "I don't hate it" are ominous words. It's not hard to imagine Kuzmenko scoring more than DeBrusk in terms of finding a scoring winger but DeBrusk has 90 playoff games under his belt and Kuzmenko… You probably don't win cups with happy go lucky players. Still, at the end of the day Pettersson (and Kuzmenko) slumped because they slumped. All players go through slumps. It has less to do with finding perfect linemates.I think DeBrusk might be a stopgap/complimentary piece while waiting for Lekerimaki to become a player.

  7. Silovs for two years would be good, maybe he can replace demko after 2 years if demko wants a raise to 8-9 mil. Demko is also injured a lot so im hoping silovs can be a good backup. He was great in PO

  8. Whilst it makes sense to name lines as they may actually line up in the season, it's also good to just do it from top down, to really understand your depth. So that said, something like:

    Boeser – Miller – DeBrusk
    Hoglander – Pettersson – Garland
    Heinen – Blueger – Joshua
    Sherwood – Suter – PDG

    Extra: Podkolzin, Aman etc.

So, whilst they can play up the order, or drop guys down for chemistry, maybe we don't have enough ELITE top end wingers, but we also have like a 2.5 line instead of a 3rd line.

Actually, it would be interesting to compare where each of the skills of the lines sit compared to the league average….

  9. Most likely…

    Heinen Miller Boeser
    Debrusk Pettersson Hoglander
    Joshua Blueger Garland
    Sherwood Suter Podkolzin

    Hughes Hronek
    Soucey Myers
    Forbort Desharnais

    Demko
    Petera
