Let Marner walk: His agent is a dick and he does nothing for the team in the playoffs. Look at the Cup champs from the past few years. They pay 2 or 3 superstars and the rest of the team are journeyman. The 2 superstars up front are Matthews and Nylander. Tavares and Marner are off the books next summer; the team can use that cap space to fill out the forward roster and maybe sign one more puck moving defenceman. Then they'll be able to do an effective Cup run. It's already been proven that this Core 4/5 concept does not work in the playoffs, so why go back to it?
Keefe or berube. I really don’t think it matters. Of available coaches they picked on at the bottom of my list. It’s Shanny. He should have been gone the minute Kyle was fired . Not because they should have kept Dubas but it was a clear omission everything Shanny has done has lead to nothing but a stable of high drafted talent and nothing else. Imo way back when I was calling for Shanny and Marner to go after the MTL loss. Anyways, couldn’t be less excited about the new coach. Rather just kept keefe

Marner signs somewhere else for $9.5 million.
A very good job with the hand they were dealt is not the same as a very good job. He's fast for his size.
This year is a wash… marner will be an anchor all year …everywhere they go will be about him and his status. Having him play it out will be a disaster
If they sign him that’s another can of worms that will delay the development of future seasons
Leafs wont do shit this season, Next year they have 22 Mill in cap, then and only then can start to be a contender ..IF … it’s done right. By doing it right I mean firing Shanny as a start.
