  1. As a Flames fan, I love Matthew Tkachuk. But yes, I can see why he's hated by everyone else lol. So he would qualify as an unlikeable player. With that being said, if you don't appreciate his talent, you are just being petty. This kid has average NHL speed and an average NHL shot but is over a point a game this season playing on the second line because of two reasons. 1) his playmaking is elite 2) his hockey IQ is off the charts. Goes to show how far hockey smarts can take you.

Oh and from an objective standpoint, Giordano is far and away the favorite for the Norris at this point. Plays against the top lines every night, is SECOND in points by a defenseman, and LEADS THE LEAGUE in +/- at 35 years of age! It's criminal that he wasn't selected for the allstar game. Whatever. I'm glad he's getting the rest he deserves.

  2. "Without the help of great goaltending"… I'm sorry Tim but you are way off on that statement and I'm sure BSD's stats can attest to that: David Rittich is currently at 17-4-3, has a GAA of 2.45 and a SV% of .920. Rittich has been a huge reason for our season, has played outstanding all year and we wouldn't be anywhere if it weren't for him.

  3. If the voters weren't silly about the Norris and actually gave it to the best defenceman, instead of the defenceman with the most points, he would've won it already at least once. Because when guys like Karlsson were having fun being a 4th forward all season, Gio was shutting down the best opponents by actually playing his position. The difference now is that with Lindholm on the top line, and Tkachuk leading the production on a good second line, Gio is finally getting points. It's not like his game wasn't this good all along, because it was, it's just that now he has points to go along with his great defensive play.
