  1. Good decision by Kylington. Flames will be doing lots of losing and that's difficult for a professional athlete. Winning is much easier to process mentally.

  2. Is it weird to anyone else that any major developments on Laine have dried up since getting out of player assistance? Maybe he’s thinking of staying with Waddel & Evason now at the helm?

  3. I could see Laine thrive in a situation where he’s the 4th-6th offensive piece similarly to Drouin he doesn’t seem to perform his best when asked to be the guy.

Best of luck to him wherever he lands, im betting Colorado because they are most likely fed up with Nichushkin and Columbus probably wont mind adding another Russian to their Motherland loving lineup.

  4. With Laine's HUGE contract, I'm assuming there's a lot of hesitant GMs and "tire-kickers" around the league.
I think Laine needs to play in Columbus for a short stint and rebuild his equity and perception around the NHL.
This would rebuild his confidence and prove his character to doubters or naysayers.
If Laine can do that, he'll recreate a market for himself. Right now, I don't think he's a hot commodity.

  5. Huge W for getting rid of him and a L for the Aves , thank you Colorado. Most Flames fans know what this team is and we accept it . Getting a new arena down the line , build up all the youth and new comers. Go Flames Go ! 🔥🔥🔥

  6. Patreon members have an opportunity to join THG’s Fantasy Leagues. Contacts and info is in both Discord servers!

  7. Hockey Guy, how about a mid-summer special video about all your other non-hockey jerseys you have? Like… do you have a Mariners Griffey jersey? Do tell. Basketball? It would make a great show. Summer theme

  8. Can't wait to see your projections for montreals young players , Hudson will be in the Calder conversation , I don't think he wins it , but he will get votes , he's getting the keys to a young powerplay in Montreal with a high ceiling

  9. Both kylington and Laine are off player assistance program. Add Laine having a Rocket Richard level cap hit.

Laine will be the new Duchene. It's going to take a while, a kings ransom. A gm desperate to make a big splash to save his job, with a lot of cap space, prospects , and draft picks.

  10. If they could figure out the cap retention stuff, I think Washington would be a perfect fit for Laine. He could start off by taking notes from Ovi and once he retires, take over the left circle. I mean a center might be better overall but ultimately I think they just need firepower up front, and Laine could end up being an absolute bargain if all goes well with him. They have I think like 5-ish million in cap space once they put both Bäckström and Oshie on LTIR, so CBJ/a third party would need to retain 40% for it to work.

  11. What a weasel. After Calgary stands by him during his crisis, while not playing for a year and a half, this is how he pays them back, with disloyalty. Good riddance.

  12. Laine had a lot of potential, but he's a bust because of the amount of injuries he's already sustained and it hampered his overall productivity. I think anyone that trades for him for more than 3 mil a season is wasting their money and their time. Trading anything more than a 3rd next year or higher is also overpaying. The kid isn't made for the NHL, no matter how good he can make his goals look.

  13. Seems like every year now there’s some talented, but question marked forward we keep hearing about getting dealt. This year its Laine; hurry up and trade him so we can focus on nothing at all.

  14. 6 goals in 18 games still projects to 27 goals over a full 82 game season. I'd take him at 6.5m with 2.2m retained. I'd be very reticent to give up anything major for him though

  15. I don’t know anything about Kylington, but I thinks it’s bad news for Malenski, whom I really like.
