You know who wins this one, regardless of whether the Oilers match or not? Broberg and Holloway win this one. Broberg especially has got to be smiling right now.
IMO the team keeps Broberg (defence is more important than forwards) and let Holloway go. I believe that the Oilers have forwards throughout the league that want to play with the Oilers. Holloway and Broberg have indicated that they don't care yo stay so make a choice for the team – let Broberg prove himself and if he succeeds then trade him next year. They are trying a powerplay against a team that they will regret leaving. No matter what both players will not be staying so make a choice for the team.
They should have signed them way earlier , now this happens.
Flip the narrative and offer Broberg and Holloway 4 years at those numbers. That way we can still trade either of them with more value on their contracts and get higher returns, or keep them at the numbers they’re honestly worth.

Here’s my opinion on how we can solve this situation, as hard as it is we have too let St. Louis keep broberg. Then offer Holloway 2.3 x2 years. We will need another cheap upgrade option on d so we will trade Cody ceci and the 2nd round pick from the offer sheet to the flyers for nick seeler. It would be hard too lose young upcoming broberg but that’s what I think should happen. The D would likely look like this,
Ekholm, Bouchard
Nurse, Seeler
Kulak, Brown
Good thing we signed perry first, blazing speed and plays a heavy game. Bonus that hes nice and young.
