I really think he was trying to stop the puck with his skate. Still a dumb decisions, didn't look like he meant it maliciously. Also, he tripped him with his skate, i didn't see any knee contact. Gio knew he was in the wrong too. He went straight to Koivu to apologize. Look at him answering Koivu while he is in the box.
