  1. Having their core locked up in Barkov, Tkachuk, Forsling and Bob, I'd guess they would try to move on from Knight as he would only cost $750k per year. Ofc it'd suck to not have a young potential stud but if they need to re-sign someone and Bob's still their man then they might entertain that e.g. to keep Reinhart

  2. Thanks for the Panthers "state of the team" review Mike!
Re: Reinhart: when a player scores 20-40 goals/season consistently and then has an outlier season of 57 G, we have to see it as just that…an outlier. All the stars aligned this past season for a helluva season BUT I have to think he's going to be back in the 25-35 G range next season. Soooo…is that worth $11-12 million/season??? I would have to say no!
If Fla invests that type of $$$ in him and he falls back to his expected production, they'll be "wasting" $3-4 million highly valuable dollars/season that they then will not have to sweeten the deal for another important player.
If they could lock him in at $8 million I'd say do it. If he's asking for an exorbitant salary they have to let him go.

  3. Great Video, as usual, Mike. I only think, that, due to Salary Cap, The Florida Panthers atr, likely going to have to move on from many on The Team Take Near Dirt Cheap Contracts

  4. Knight and Ekblad can go. If they can get Reinhardt for 7 to 8 million then bringing back Montour and Tarasenko are possible. Lomberg would be great.

  5. Except for the obvious keeper in Reinhart, we absolutely need to keep Lomberg. Incredible peace of this team. If Zito manages to sign Rhino, Lomberg and Monty (and Lundell) out of this list Iā€™d be happy.

  6. Donā€™t see Tarasenko or Montour coming back. Reinhart and Lundell should be a big priority. OEL could come back on a cheaper deal if he wants to return if not theyā€™ll find someone to replace him

  7. Gotta find a trade partner for Ekblad. He's injured far too often and doesn't hold the value of his hefty contract.

  8. There is absolutely no way lomberg is gone. I canā€™t imagine him leaving Florida. Reinhardt for $7.5mil. Lundell for $4mil. Tarasenko for $2mil. Monty will be gone. Cousins will be gone. Stolarz will be gone. Kulikov might come back.

  9. Im a happy Cats fan. That being said, there is zero chance Montour comes back. Two defensemen will definitely not be back cause we got 2 young guys that will be a part of the D core. We got two guys that did not play in the playoffs in our bottom 6 that will also be part of our rotation. We really only have one bad contract, which is Ekblad. I'm not sure what we can actually do with him, so he'll probably be back. Spencer Knight is the biggest decision Zito will have to make. 4.5 mill is a lot to pay for a backup goalie. Tarasenko might cost too much, even though he supposedly wants to stay. These are my predictions
    Defensively….
    Forsling, Ekblad
    Mikkola, (Maybe OEL)
    Balinskas, Bjornfut

    Offensively…
    Reino, Barkov, ERod
    Chucky, Bennett, Swaggy
    Eetu, Lundell, Samoskevich
    Lomberg, Stenlund, Gadjovich

    Goalie…
    BOB
??? Maybe Knight if they dont move him

  10. Of course, money talks. However, the Panthers now have a solid franchise. A lot of guys in the NHL want to play here. Beautiful weather, no state income tax and a great place to live. I suspect guys will give a little in salary in tradeoff for these attributes.

  11. absolutely love the channel man i know its less mainstream but would love to see some echl ahl content especially as the relate to the nhl as far as player development
