Some thoughts on Reinbacher..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at what this upcoming season means for David Reinbacher… Who struggled last season with Kloten in Switzerland.. The entire team struggled.. However, at the end of the year when he was playing for the Laval Rocket.. Reinbacher looked pretty solid. I’m hoping this is going to be a big year for him in Laval, and in today’s video we go over this topic.

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. He's a european defencemen.

He needs to do like Mailloux and get a season of AHL to work him up with north american skills. it's more for the adaptation and learning the grit. Same with Lane Hutson (unless proven otherwise)

Good potential players (like Sean Farrell) had trouble with the calendar, match frequency and health standards for a full season. Give him a personal coach to learn how to be a pro then bring him up.

  2. Habs have 11 D who could play if you include Engstrom. Expect Engstrom and Reinbacher to play full year in AHL, still leaves 9 D, so one of Hutson Struble Mailloux likely AHL bound, unless they make a trade. William Trudeau is reading this and saying 'there's 12 D actually!'

  3. Popcorn will spend a season in Laval for seasoning and because there is no space for him. Savard, Guhle, Harris, Barron and Mailloux will or can all play RD. While LD is stacked. 19 or 20 years old is too young for a d-man in the NHL.

  4. Everyone talks about the Habs needing to make trades on defense. They don't need to make those trades this year (at least until the trade deadline).

Hutson 2 games of NHL experience
Reinbacher 11 games of AHL experience
Mailloux 1 NHL game, full AHL season.

It would not hurt any of these 3 to play in Laval. Give them all a sniff with the Habs on long road trips, but otherwise leave them in Laval. None of them need to clear waivers to go back and forth to Laval, that leaves for the Habs

    Matheson Guhle
    Xhekaj Savard
    Harris Barron
    Struble

With Struble being the only one of the 7 that is waiver exempt.

Give the 3 Musketeers top 4 playing time in Laval, and in all situations, 5v5, PP and PK.

Come trade deadline, Savard will be gone at the very least, you can then bring up Mailloux to replace him until the end of the season (by then probably the one most ready to make the full time jump to the NHL, and benefits by being a RD)

Absolutely zero reason to push any of those 3 to the Habs too early. Last thing we need is another Mete, KK, Galchenyuk, etc, etc.

  5. I purchased the Laval home and away AHL games last year and will do the same this year.. good value for your buck. get to see the future NHL'ers b4 they go to the big league

  6. I would let Reinbacher stay in laval for the next season. I'd bring up Mailloux and Hutson. Matheson/Guhle, Hutson/Savard, Mailloux/Xhekaj

  7. When I see Reinbacher I see Vladimir Malahkov the past hab D man that was big but a bit lumbering but as also often effective.
When I see Guhle I se nothing I can't even describe his game outside of just average so imo Reinbacher has more upside and coudl end up top 4 with Hutson/Matheson and one more soon to be filled but I would even be ok seeing Arber on the PP's because he has a great shot we just need players getting to the net getting rebounds off that shot.
The one issue I have with Reinbacher is similar to Mailloux he is a bit slow of foot ok once he gets going but not so great from a stand still.

  8. I said in another video about Reinbacher, he's in the league of a Roman Hamrlik archetype. He's a good pick and MTL wasn't willing to bet on Mitchkov. I doubt he will be a cornerstone defense in the likes of Lindstrom/Markov/Burns/Karlson/Hughes/Makar. He will most likely become a NHL defenseman from 2nd to to 4th position.
