  1. Always had a soft spot for the Flames because they were the best team in NHL 2k7 on the PS2 so I always played as them.

  2. Mine was Steve Yzerman. When Detroit was in the west, he would roast the Blues, but I just couldn't not like him. I just wanted him to wear a blue sweater instead of red.

  3. All these years cheering for the Oilers, I see this list and start wondering if maybe I am secretly a Flames fan…Iginla, Fleury, MacInnis, McDonald, Johnny Hockey…there are some guys I really like, just need to get them to change their uniform. PS, I really liked seeing McDonald win a cup.
Now just to ease my ego here is a Flames joke…what is the difference between the flames and a bra?…a bra has two cups.

  4. (posting on a friends account) Good list, but a couple more current guys should be on this list. I know their careers arent over, but how Monahan isn't on this list is a bit strange. He may not be the best centre they've had, but he is a franchise guy. Bennett is leading that way as well, but he's not top 15. I would seriously consider Moneyhands over maybe 2 or 3 names on this list. Great list.

  5. "This is a list of my favourites." I completely understand, but must inform you that any universe in which Johnny Gaudreau is more favourited than Gary Suter is an alternate universe in which Gary Suter doesn't exist (or your list is wrong). Also, man I miss Kipper. The man was a phenom and gave the best, most laconic interviews I've ever seen.

  6. 1. Alex Tanguay
    2. Elias Lindholm
    3. Karri Ramo
    4. Jiri Hudler
    5. Mike Cammalleri
    6. Mikael Backlund
    7. Theo Fleury
    8. Owen Nolan
    9. Roman Cervenka
    10. Reto Berra
    11. Dion Phanuef
    12. Sven Baertschi
    13. Johnny Gaudreau
    14. Tanner Glass
    15. Brett Kulak

  7. Not a Flames fan but liked Lanny McDonald and was happy for him to win a cup. When the Flames won the cup in 89

  9. Craig Conroy has to be on that list. Amazing guy, amazing teammate. Kent Nilsson maybe too.

  10. fun fact about sergei Makarov. I saw him standing side by side with Theo Fleury, even though he was listed at 5'11" he was exactly the same height as Fleury.

  11. Anybody doesn't like Lanny McDonald, go look in a mirror because there's something wrong with you.

  12. Losing Brodie had a pretty big impact on Gio’s play. Gio and Brodie were the best pairing in the NHL for a couple seasons.

  13. As a life long Flames fan, I like the list. Although, Robyn Regehr would be very high on my list. He was one of the best if not the best shut down dman during his prime. Him and Leopold were an incredible pairing during the 2004 run. Obviously Conroy would be on my list as well along with Andrew Ference. I hated when they traded him and Kobasew to Boston for Brad Stuart, Wayne Primeau and a 4th round pick. That 4th rounder did end up being TJ Brodie though. Ference was a big part of Boston winning the cup back in 2011.

  14. Joel Otto had hands of concrete. I agree with your assessment of him. He wouldn’t even be in my top 30. Otto was super frustrating.

  15. Joel Otto… S-Tier hockey name.

    1. MacInnis
    2. Nieuwendyk
    3. Vernon
    4. Iginla
    5. Mullen
    6. Gilmour
    7. Fleury
    8. MacDonald
    9. Loob
    10. Kiprusoff
    11. Roberts
    12. Rick Wamsley (another great hockey name, Haken Loob is pretty boss, too.
    13. Gio
    14. Johnny
    15. Jagr

  16. A few years late to seeing this channel and this specific video. But as someone that likes the flames had to take a moment and watch this one too besides the others I’ve been watching along with it. Iginla is definitely my all time favorite hockey player. Markstrom & Mangiapane would follow as current flames and active players that would be on my own favorite players list.

  17. This is a solid list!

I'd bump a couple but that is only because I was too young to appreciate who they were. Reg was a special guy to me. That's when I watched the most hockey. He was a humble and quiet guy. He didn't lay you out in a corner because he was an angry man he did it because it was his job and boy oh boy was he good at his job! And when the flames stank Sandy McCarthy made me happy!
