Imagine walking into camp as a rookie, and Auston is your captain? I really think this will have a huge impact on the team. Over the years, players like Marleau, Spezza, and Thornton were brought in as mentors for this young team. JT filled that roll, too, in many ways. Now, one of the most relevant players in the league has a ‘C’. I think he will inspire his teammates to take it up another level. I’m looking forward to seeing how he handles even more pressure if that’s even possible. We’ve had some great captains; 17, 13, and 27, but this one is special.
