Why would Edmonton trade for Kostin when Holloway is just 300k more. You are getting nothing for ceci or kulak. Your adding at least a second to just getting rid of there contracts.
Always liked Kostin. He stepped up when Kane was injured a few years ago. Barrie was PP specialist, he is not that good in defense but should able to handle the job in 3rd pairing.
I love kostin but he's not a trade target (sadly), tyson barrie is just useless for the love of god keep him away, Rasmus andersson would be amazing but no way flames give him to us

I wouldn't get Barrie unless there was no other option. Years ago already he was coughing up the puck at the blue line and then was like a turtle trying to backcheck. He's faster now? Lol, I doubt it. Sholtz was so soft he made hot butter seem like forged steel. Good Lord I hope they can do better then that.

How do Barrie and Schultz compare to Troy Stecher? I don't really see the improvement over him, who they already have.
Gustav Lindstrom in a free agent RHD, was a plus on the Ducks last season in a bottom pair role, and only 25. Oilers already have Brown and Carrick though

I'm a Kostin fan as well, but Holloway and Broberg are far more valuable players. I'll be unhappy if the Oilers don't retain both players, although I'd like Kostin back too. The team needs to make some adjustments to retain those players. They can't just lose young players like this for little return–it's wasteful mismanagement and organizational negligence. The team has to make it right.
So we're not going to give a chance to Ben Gleason and Niemo? It's the 7th defenseman spot that's up for grabs, we shouldn't be thinking we need a outside player to block our own prospect pipeline
