Looks like a pretty festive and happy affair. Tavares, in particular, looked quite relaxed.

Class all around. JTs kids having Matthews’ jersey on with a C was such a great thing to see. I’m sure there’s a sting, but JT putting the team first and passing the torch is why he had the C. What a great lesson for 34, who will be a great leader too, no doubt.

Takes a special person to do what JT did and to do it with that level of grace. His family/kids are lucky to have someone like that as a father and husband. Hope he retires a leaf

I like the hot mic warning

These Blueprint videos are always some of my favourite

Rosie always asks the strangest questions.

Like it’s always questions such as “are your feelings hurt” or “have you considered saying “No” to being captain” *on the day he’s being announced as captain.*

That’s the thing about JT: no matter the situation, he always carries himself VERY carefully in front of the cameras. He’s always very gracious, very formal, always conducting himself professionally. He rarely gets emotional (some would argue to a fault, listening to him talk isn’t the most exciting thing in the world).

Maybe it did sting a bit. Maybe he was happy to do it. Maybe it was his idea. Maybe the decision was made with careful coordination between him and Treliving. Or maybe it was forced on him, and he was given a chance to save face by being polite about it. But we’ll never know the truth from JT himself. He always puts the team first. And that’s the mark of a true captain.

JT will soon be picking the Leaf Captains, post playing career once he becomes a member of Management!!!

I love the direction we are headed. Starting to build a team again. It almost feels like Dubas/Keefe era was a little cult-like.

There are still moves to be made over the season, but I like that we are at least trying to change it up.

Figuring out what to do with Roberston is next. Then Marner in offseason.

Hopefully we get a solid Goalie battle as well.

Maybe we see a new side of Auston too.
