Saw this over on the hockey subreddit and was pleasantly surprised to see where we placed on the list.
Of course this is just one person’s opinion, but it’s still nice to see. No doubt Edmonton has the best pair of centres in the game, but we’ve got a pretty darn good 1-2 punch down the middle ourselves.

Pretty deserved I feel like. Obviously it sucks that Petey fell off in the latter half of last season but true talent wise, I don’t see any of the others that I’d personally put ahead of them.
We have an amazing 1-2 Center, one of the best 1st Pairs and a Venezia level goalie. We should get used to being a force in the West, it’s all the edge pieces.
When our debate is whether Podz can make the team and if any of our redwoods on the backend can move the puck, instead of “trade Boeser or Garland” you know we’re doing well.
Wild how far we’ve come as a team since Bo’s tenure. I do wish the best for him.

Our players normally get massively disrespected on these lists so this makes me happy
We have two very good number-one centers. We’re so fortunate to be in this position. Gotta think about how hard it is to acquire that situation to understand just how fortunate we are.
More generally, we already have many of the most difficult to acquire players. Namely, a #1D and a good #1G. Encouraging to think many of the pieces we need are already there! Just gotta keep strengthening the supporting cast.
We have 2 top 10 C’s, a top 2 D, a top 5 goalie, and depth to boot.
This team can go all the way, so long as their guys are healthy and playing like they can.
Really hope Petey can get his mojo back this year👍
After next year our centres will be #2 but at $13 million less a season
#2 with #3 being one of our top players’ brother and #10 our ex- captain feels real good right about now

Draisaitl plays with Mcdavid at even strength more than any other forward. It almost seems disingenuous to call them both centers, or at least a 1-2 punch.
Barkov deserves to be higher up that list.
