This was the way forward for the Devils.
I just don’t see how that make any sense for the habs except if we are able to flip monty or fowler for a top 6 player and even then, the cost of askarov needs to defensive prospects only and maybe some picks otherwise sounds like waiting for fowler is the move.
Im not saying no to the idea, askarov fowler as a 1a 1b tandem would be incredible, but at what cost? I dont see a world where the cost is lower than 1 of hutson/guhle/caufield/slaf/dach, depending what nashville needs the most, and im not willing to part with any of these
we have flowler in the wings so do we want to lose him..i think not..depends on the price
Can you imagine that core.. Slafkovsky, Demidov, Reinbacher, Askarov…
Not happening. Montreal already has one of the better goaltending pools in the league. If anything, they are in the market for a good young forward prospect.
Yes
Nashville has become competitive fast. I could see them valuing savard/matheson or both a lot at this point in time. More would need to be added ofcourse but im interested
We had the chance to trade our 2023 fifth overall selection for Askarov, we declined. Instead we selected a bunch of goalies. Now we have multiple prospects including Fowler (the US college star), Volohkin (the russian beast), and Dobeš (the underrated 6'5" Laval goalie). Is it possible Askarov better then all of them, probably. Is it possible we already have a better goalie, probably. To be honest, i'd rather give a chance to the guys we already have.
Habs media starving in the summer, literally mock trading for every single name they can think of.
