It sure looks like they only did Holloway to make it harder to match on broberg.
Unless the oilers decline to match the offers its moot…they have 7 days to decide…and both players have to accept as well…
Don’t stress the money. If he’s not worth it they can just let him walk in two years.
St Louis has a stupid GM , over paid both players
Based on their stats you overpaid. But not based on their potential. As an Oiler fan, our GM kept Holloway in the minors to improve his 2 way play. Which he did a great job of and was able ti be a regular in the playoffs becuae of it. If he would have played all 80 games in the NHl this year he would have had 10-15 goals and he would be at that pay.holloway plays woth his heart in his sleeve and plays the right way.
Same thing with Broberg. Dude is a really good puck handler. The guy basically has played 81 professional games and comes in during rhe last 2 rounda of rhe finals and plays like a veteran +8 in 10 games. Moves the puck great, smart and has offensive upside.
Trust me. We kept both in the minors because we were having a fine year without them AND wanted ti keep their stats low so we could offer them the league minimum for players with those stats.
