May have seen the last of 17 as an isle. And tb gone now so isles outlasted caps and tb in playoffs. Canes are still 6-1 vs. isles in playoffs in nc. Isles need three guys to step up and a goalie to steal game to get this series back to l i and then back to nc. Isles need to outwork, outhit canes as the underdog this series to keep it going. And stay out of box. The pk is an unfixable mess at this point.
This all started around 7 years old, I'm watching the Islanders in the Stanley Cup. I think it was on WOR-9 in NY. I didn't even know where Long Island was, living in Yonkers. Now 40 years later, I'm probably the only Islander fan this close to the Mexican border, and I'm excited about the game. The islanders look older and less dynamic, but the 7-year-old kid in me believe they will grind the heck out of this game and find a way to win. LFG Islanders!
My original prediction was that the Isles would be swept or lose in 5. Let's see if they can get it back home for a game 6. Fingers crossed but not confident they can do it. Carolina just looks like they're a level above the Islanders in just about every way.
Gil, I won’t be surprised if varly is pulled say after four goals and we see Sorokin end this crazy up and down season. I believe we’re going to see a barrage again like in game two. Their fans will be going crazy and I’m not feeling too confident. Not happy about holmstrom after watching him get pushed around last time he played. To have holmstrom and fasching playing over iskhakov is criminal. Senile Lou should have put wahlstrom on ltir and brought rusty up earlier. Especially with wahly saying it wasn’t till the Florida trip his knee was doing better.
Any thing can happen in sports, don’t understand the Holstrom thing but I’m not the coach, great show thank you Gil, Let’s go Islanders !!!
Okay I was 54 during the 4th game at the end I was 76 sooooo if this game is anything like that I will prepare my eulogy lol. I love and hate the playoffs!!! LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!!!
There are games where it looks like Holmstrom is comfortable. I like that idea you said Fasching in 4th and Ishakov on third. Gauthier is intriguing. In the end putting it in the net is the end goal. Maggio is 5’10” f Roy wants to get crazy
Not for anything but aside from Roy the islanders need to clean house and I hope that includes the poor Bridgeport Islanders. They need a coaching staff! They’ve needed a coaching staff for a long time!
Regardless of the outcome, this team is in a state of emergency. No pp quarterback, no pk, too many minor league players, and that's just the beginning. Bad contracts. Old players. A goalie who signed an 8 year contract suddenly forgot how the play his position. A coaching change was a bright spot. 2 defenseman signed off waivers was ok, but not great. Not getting a pp guy at the trade deadline proved to be costly. I think the team would have been much more competitive. The farm team is so empty that an under sized forward is the only thing we have left at playoff time. McLean I think was the best thing to come out of this crazy season. A true throw back player, with heart! Ownership has alot of work ahead of them. As for tonight anything can happen! Let's go islanders!

Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Tonight IT'S DO OR DIE for The Islanders, and they're in NC, too. If The Islanders win, they not only going back 🏡, but they've got plenty of confidence as well. Varly's in between the pipes; however, Matt Martin won't be in the lineup he'll probably be in the stands. Putting Ishkakov on the 4th line BAD IDEA. I'm convinced Patrick Roy will wait until game ⌚ to see what happens. The Islanders signed a Swedish goaltender named Marcus Hogberg, who has some NHL experience with The Ottawa Senators. He's pushing 30 years, like that really matters. The goalies they have in Bridgeport need more ⌚. The Islanders need to play smart, and STAY OUT OF THE JOINT. If they don't score the first or second goals, THEY'RE IN TROUBLE. Whatever Patrick Roy tells them, it will be to STAY FOCUSED, and also to BEAR DOWN get the crowd out of it early. He also asked them WHAT DO YOU WANT? He's telling them to control their destiny. Thank you for bringing up the comeback against 1975. HAPPY 🎂, RICH PILON. I remember when they played Montreal in the playoffs that year I think they were the only team to beat The Canadiens, who would win The Stanley Cup that year. Good morning team. Gil, I agree. It's going to be a tough hill to climb, even if we we're not playing a team as talented as the Canes. I'm really hoping the Islanders confident level is higher than it's been, thus far in the series. We were on the short side of 3 games that could have gone either way. The game tonight should be exciting, to say the least. Please stay out of the penalty box. I believe we have a good chance in this game if that happens. The last thing I'm going to say about this game. In tonight's game, the NY Islanders are the only team in the NHL that has a shot to beat the Hurricanes. I've seen this script before. The Isles are close in PO games against the Canes, manage to win an elimination game before being …..eliminated. The Isles have lost their scoring touch after all those years of 'make the simple play' stuff that brought them success under Trotz. My real frustration is that Lee scored 40 in 2018, predominately net front tips and battling rebounds. Lee hasn't been used that way in years. Such a shame. We had a Kreider type player that defeats top goalies and we turned him into a skating winger.
Loved watching Pilon play in the old barn. Was one of my favorites! Playoff run in 93 was 2 years before I moved to Montreal. Looking forward to the game tonight. Go Islanders!

Hey Gil – As seen in game 2 if the Isles hold off the Canes early and score first it will take their fans out of the game because they only cheer when the Canes score a goal. Everybody I see is already planning to see the Rangers vs Carolina but this series could be 3-1 for the Isles and we have only lost because we made mental mistakes and it seemed we have learned from previous mistakes. We want one more Home game at UBS Arena so tonight I'm hoping the boys come to play and I'm predicting a big game from Horvat and Engvall so lets get that Win ! #LGI
