Austin Watson pled guilty to domestic abuse, there was other moving parts but nevertheless the facts are pledged guilty to domestic abuse in 2018 which was a felony charge. He got a lesser sentence of community service but he was still able to be in the NHL and he played in the league for a very long time after that. Lucic should have no problem. It doesn’t drink alcohol and his wife and him are separated. Don’t even know what happened on the police report it doesn’t even say he hit her, also she was drunk too..
If the Bertuzzi last name still has a place in the NHL; if the Baltimore Ravens let Ray Lewis stay on the field; if they didn't utterly disband the Penn State football team after Sandusky's crimes were uncovered… Then the NHL can let Lucic back on the ice.
As far as the potential for a PR nightmare, I would like to remind everyone that Gary Bettman has been commissioner since the early 90s, and that man is nothing but a walking PR nightmare. If you need proof, look into the 1999 Cup final with Brett Hull.
