Knicks Provide MAJOR Update On Mitchell Robinson’s Availabilty To Start The Season… | Knicks News

The New York Knicks may be down Mitchell Robinson, currently NY’s starting center, to start the regular season. Per NBA Insider Ian Begley, Robinson still has several hurdles to clear before starting high intensity training. This is significant as it means he has more hurdles to clear before being ready and recent updates indicate that Robinson will also miss training camp for this season… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. Knicks FO should not panic. In the interim just signed available Cs until Robinson returns. Let Robinson rehab and don’t rush otherwise he will get injured further. Knicks just sign any C for now until Robinson returns and when other teams get desperate to trade their 5. Knicks messed up this year as they plan poorly when they knew IHart was likely could be paid much much more and they had 2 first rounders and chose not to select a C. Flipowski was available so was other Cs but they chose not to select a big. Not sure why they are over supplying on Gs and not Cs. Poorly plan by Knicks FO before IHart was gone and push all their draft picks (5 future first rounders)for a non all star non NBA Bridges and got themselves stuck with no future draft capital to trade for back up. Ainge smell blood so he up the stakes and so does other teams around the league

  2. Call me prejudices, but M.Rob is the best center in the league when fully healthy. Let the man fully recover and everyone will see the big difference he will make. Ive been a knick since i was 18 years old, and I'm 73 years old now. So since 1969 I've been a knick…I wish i could give some of you guys some of my patience cause you dont have any.

  3. Ok Knick fans stop the panicking ! It's gonna be unrealistic for any team to be perfect at every position and for the entire basketball season or any sport for that matter. I guess the team has players to hold the fort until Robinson is fully healthy. And, when he gets back- no matter when- the team will have been much better developing Sims and its bench, and not unreasonably playing Robinson too many minutes a game (Is that right coach Tom? ). Ok, we might not win 60 regular season games, but the goal is to be healthy at playoff times, when basketball win is meaningful and significant. It serves no purpose to win 70 regular season games and lose in the playoffs for being tired or hurt! Our coach has to be patient developing young skill players, and sacrificing at times a winning streak for the good of the team. Because, no matter how great is your team, you cannot win the championship in January. Please give Robinson time to heal, and play him less minutes when is back. At the end, we will survive, and be better off.

  4. Nobody was crazy bout ihart…till he started n got it going fortunately why isn't everyone optimistic bout jsims. I think he more than capable of doin wat Ihart did!

  5. PATIENCE GRASSHOPPERS! Rome wasn't built in a day. If yall think the Knicks are going all the way this coming season, you're delusional. Get by Boston first. Can to let it play out, Hmmm? Can you stop kicking a man out because he's injured? Personally, Robinson should've stayed out the whole season last year, but that's me. I like my players to be fully healed before playing. What's the rush?

  6. As important as he is, and as talented, he is if he has another serious injury, this might be his last year with the Knicks

  7. He has to GO!!! is he a great shot blocker yes but he can't stay on the floor and he gives you no offense the Gane is played out side the lines every one shoot 3 so that takes him out the game. He will never be the same to many injuries learn to let go.

  8. Why?! Why?! Why?! Did the Knicks let Skap sign with Portland. We needed a center and he was a center! What were the a Knicks doing? Do they really expect Achuwa and Sims to hold down the middle against Embiid and Giannis and Towns and Wemby and…?

  9. THE ONLY REASON THAT MITCHELL ROBINSON IS NOT GOING TO TRAINING CAMP WHEN IT STARTS IS BECAUSE AFTER HIS SURGERY HE COULDN'T PUT ANY WEIGHT ON HIS ANKLE AND AS A RESULT IT MADE HIM IMMOBILE. HE HAS PUT ON SOME WEIGHT. PUT HE WILL DEFINITELY BE ABLE TO PLAY BY LATE OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER. BY THE DECEMBER DEADLINE LEON ROSE WILL DEFINITELY MAKE A MOVE. I THINK IT WILL BE JONAS

  10. BEFORE MR GETS BACK THE KNICKS WILL UTILIZE, MCBRIDE, PRECIOUS, RANDLE, EVEN OG. . PRECIOUS I FEEL WILL BE TRADED IN THE DECEMBER DEADLINE

  11. Skapintsev has really improved his speed and could be NBA ready this year. Hukporti has the highest ceiling as our future stretch center he needs to work hard on his fundamentals like McBride did. Jericho Sims was the one who I hopped could surpass Robinson with his acrobatics. Achiuwa is awesome just a little undersized at center.
However in regards to minutes distribution I want to see Randle as the stretch center, with OG at PF, Bridges at the three, Hart as the SG and Brunson at PG. This match up is most ideal against opposing stretch centers. Because when you bring in Robinson you could slide Randle to PF, OG to the three, Bridges to the two and sub out Hart to go big. Or even start Divincenzo at SG if he is your most efficient three point shooter and when you bring in Hart he could sub at four different positions therefore you can directly reward minutes with efficient play.
Then if it works with minutes distribution you gotta extend Randle. However I understand that waiting until you have secured your best possible backup center is the piece that you need before going over the second apron.
If we are healthy and Porzingus isnt, then we are already better than Boston.
However I would have liked to see Jokubaitas and Lessort sign because they know we will win the championship and I wish we had a aging future hall of famer to give the mid-level exception to like if Melo could play stretch center. 😂 Lol

  12. Jericho Sims is the men take or leave it you don't control what's going, Jericho
Sims the men why you think they draft him because you think he's a doumb player .

  13. I DONT UNDERSTAND I SAW HIM A MONTH AGO HAVING A BLAST RUNNING ON THE 3 POINT LINE TAKING JUMPERS AND ACTUALLY HITTING THEM. MAKES NO SENSE NOW HE CANT PUT PRESSURE ON FOOT
