I would wait awhile on JT. He's got value, but I'd be thinking 4.5M x 3 at the most. CBJ are in dreamland if they think teams will take on Laine's contract with only a low amount being retained. Locker room issues… sounds like Winnipeg all over again. Starting to wonder if Laine is "all there". I'm surprised Martin Jones is still unsigned. Thought he did very well when called upon last season by the Leafs.

Laine is an absolute 🤡, always has been always will be. The locker room beef with Wheeler Scheifele was 100% the story of a cocky kid refusing to live up to the standards of a professional athlete. Watch his PRE DRAFT interview with TSN that he did literally lying down on a sofa with a laptop on his chest, kid couldn't even be bothered to sit up straight and respect his audience. Kid is never satisfied and never thinks anything is his fault, this is why smart teams like MTL have no interest.

Sign at the right $ amount, wait or no resign re: JT…it's a win-win-win. BT has already begun to the process of reshaping the team. For instance, Mattinen, Webber and Myers are all 6' 6" or more…he also took a shot at Hakanpaa(sp?) 6' 7"…likes defenceman that are strong defence primarily oriented players like Tanev, Benoit and Hakanpaa…I look for more changes in personnel going forward… as they come…this may include JT whose $11M could fetch two good players, but this changing of the captaincy seems to have engendered some real "feel good" about the team…even unanimity or Leafs for Life type feeling that maybe the Coach and GM have helped create bts(?)…and if they have the team moving in a good direction, however it's done, I'm, generally speaking, on board with it
I think the leafs should say JT we need a real team friendly contract. Offer him 3.5M x3. JT unless he drops off drastically this season is still very productive. That gives 7.5M to sign a real good player which would be a huge upgrade overall. The UFA pool is very strong for the 25-26 season.

Laine is a FRAUD. Stop wasting your time on Laine CBJ AND TSH. Nobody is paying Laine. 50% salary retention and he'll move. They are not retaining money hahhahahahaahah.
Landeskog needs to step down from captain it's Mackinnons team now. I doubt he plays this season again at at that point there would be a good chance he wouldn't play again

Re: UFAs: most of these guys are older and slower and the game is younger & faster. Some will get league minimum contract offers while others will/should retire i suspect.

I originally thought that a trade with Ottawa would work,but I don't think so now.Ottawa is further ahead to make a big trade with Calgary.There is another trade option.
Anton Forsberg Kubalik,Zub,and Josh Norris plus a couple prospects for Anderson,Mantha,Joni Jurmo and Kadri.Move Garioux to Winnipeg for Nino Neiderreiter.
You wanted to know what Leafs fans think about JT. I’ve been a fan since 1969 and as you were describing your opinion, I was thinking sure, bring him back – two years at 5 million and that’s more less what you said. And I also agree that they should wait.
