This is incredible news

Nhl news today – I know the nhl news cycle recently has been centered around the oilers blues offer sheets situation and the auston matthews captaincy as john tavares’ replacement, but I don’t want this, what I consider significant, piece of news go unnoticed on this channel. If you want more colorado avalanche news or just videos on the team in general let me know, I tend to make plenty of nathan mackinnon highlights breakdown content but I want to discuss the team as a whole more. Gabriel landeskog return from injury this year will be fascinating to watch, and for more recap reaction and breakdowns of nhl highlights , news and rumors , trades and signings , player/team overview content and more, subscribe. 1. Would love it so much to wake up one day and find out that Landeskog is returning to the lineup — it has been really weird to see the Avs without their true captain

  2. Goal tending was not why we lost, goal tending is the only reason we got as far as we did. He struggled in the first few games, but he was still outplaying hellebyuck and the only reason we lost to Dallas was because oettinger is a god tier goalie when his game is on and nichuskin fucked us

  3. Unfortunately, being out for 2 years with a knee injury is really not good for playing. Landeskog will probably only be about 60% of his former self which is still good enough to be in the NHL but he won’t be the juggernaut he was pre injury.

  4. I'm gald you mentioned it's blasphemos to us Avs mention Mac replacing Landy as captain because it really is. This dude (our captain) has been with the team through the ups and the downs. And it was reaalllyyy down when he was made captain. That 16-17 team was one of the worst teams in NHL history, and 5 years later they were Stanley Cup champions.
So what I am really saying is if this dude can be there for us fans during the worst years in team history, the least we can do as fans is support him during the worst years in his carrer. O Captain my Captain we love you here in Denver!

  5. Avs were missing both Nichuskin and O'Connor in the 2nd round. That's a huge loss of depth, leading to a deceptively bad performance against Dallas.

With all three on the lineup, and Landeskog in form, it's a scary team. Especially if Drouin keeps his upward trend.

  6. Wait, what? Our goaltending was solid AF! A big surprise for many, but it was.
And in terms of Landeskog coming back, I'll believe it when I see it. And when he does come back, lets hope he can 'stay healthy'.
    Not long now…

  7. when gabe comes back, you just know he has the msterton award locked up… unless someone pulls a jesus moment on the ice

  8. Let’s goo!!! Love landy been so hard seeing the turmoil with his injury but hopefully the payoff makes it all worth it

  9. Hot take i thought georgiev played as well as oettinger in round 2. The big difference was oettinger had a defense to bail him out if need be. Meanwhile georgiev was on the other end fighting for his life because his defense left him out to dry. Makar and toews are good but you cant expect them to do everything. Avs need to find another decent defensive pairing to pick up some slack imo.

  10. I couldn't see Mackinnon ever taking the captaincy from Landeskog even if he were offered. Nate has way too much class to do that.!

  11. Watching the most recent videos of him skating he doesn't look very close he's only going like maybe half speed. It didn't look that close.

  12. I'd love to see you talk about my Avs more! I understand there's so much to cover, but I love seeing you talk about them.

  13. Goaltending was not the reason they lost that series against Dallas. Lack of depth and a problem named Val caused them to lose focus.

  14. Missing Landy has been a glaring hole in the lineup the last two seasons. His talent, grit, and intangibles as a leader are so important for the way the team is constructed.
Also, I don’t think Nate would have gotten the C if Landy had to retire. He has said in interviews that he didn’t want it, so I would guess Cale would have been the choice.

  15. As an Avs fan that weathered the Joe Sacco and Patrick Roy eras, there would be no exception than Landeskog as captain. We love Nate Dogg but as long as there's a chance for Landy to come back then he has to be captain.

  16. I normally love your takes and loveeee the Avs coverage but nah Georgie slayed the playoffs dude he kept us in so many times in both series

  17. I'm a Stars fan, but watching the variety of teams through JH's lens helps me understand what the Stars will be up against, or who they fought against.

  18. C'mon dude. If you watched Avs past game one of the playoffs you'd know goaltending wasn't the problem. It was 100% the Nichuskin situation that sunk us. Hope Landy comes back in any capacity

  19. If he can come back and play well, the team is stacked: Nate, Rants, Gabe, Cale, Middlestadt, Nuke (assuming he plays again). That’s powerhouse offence.

  20. Great news about Landeskog and if the Avs had been able to have him these last two years would have been different. Add to that Oettinger outplaying us and Val's totally disaster and it wasn't gonna happen. This year we will be the team at our best wishing Landy and the Avs sustained good health and a better, more prosperous road ahead.
