  1. Welp… This is all a big gamble and you know what? With Martin St Louis at the helm, I have confidence. Laine may perform solidly under pressure here. Like musical artists, some players are fabulous under the limelight. We shall see and obviously, if Laine plays with Each, this would be a splendid matchup provided that Laine is in the zone or willing to work hard with his new linesmen. In conclusion, all of this is quite exciting and once again, Hughes is hitting it out of the ballpark:)

  2. Montreal gave less ice time to Harris approx 4 mins plus per game and Harris' numbers went down. Maybe Montreal wants to get rid of Mailloux now? …. How about Otts taking him???

  3. If Laine hits 40 goals, AND Caufield hits 40, that will be the first time we've had multiple 40 goal scorers since 1979-1980! 44 years ago! It's time to get our once proud franchise out of the gutter, and start winning again. Go habs Go!!! Now im excited for the season to start!!!

  4. Now we have him for cheap gave up Harris only and some Cap. Still have all our assets plus another 2nd time to get McGroerty.

  5. Laine could be like a Kovalev. A misunderstood player who just needs fan love. I think its possible Laine becomes the top dog on Mtl. Gonna be interesting for sure

  6. So looking at Columbus' defensive lineup, here's prospects you're missing, Jiricek (R), Mateychuk (L), Svozil (L), etc.

  7. CBJ had to add a sweetner to the deal for somebody nobody who doesn't follow the habs has even heard of. if he doesn't have a good start and that fan base lights into him it will be ground hog day.

  8. Montreal seems to be one Zegras away from having an interesting dressing room. A lot of personalities in there, hopefully they all mesh together. Including Hutson, Laine, Demidov etc. They’re all amazing players, just wonder if heads might clash due to that case and lack of ice time, pp etc.

  9. That trade checks all boxes for Montreal and even if Laine doesn't work out, Harris for a 2nd is a fair trade in itself

  10. lets see..KK and Galenchuk did not work either… Dach, Newhook and Laine will be a power line so now Montreal has 2 top lines

  11. Terrible trade for habs. They are bottom 5 last year and they are not making the playoffs still even with laine. Not because he’s a completely washed up player but Montreal is not close to making the playoffs. That 8.7M cap will be a problem for 2 years.
