As a habs fan i hope we get Zadina i dont know why but i have better feelings about this kid than about Sveshnikov also for what it's worth Sveshnikov just followed the Canes on instagram and Zadina the Habs could they know something we dont already?

balsy thinking svech goes 4th i kind of hope he falls to the habs at 3 and would be very dissapointed in tkachuck at 3 the ceiling is higher for svech and zadina habs need the higher ceiling vs a possible center whos actually a winger, if this actually happens there would be a massive upraor in montreal, i read on hfboards and half of those guys wouldnt take tkachuck 7th habs already have 2 wingers they have thrown into the center role in galch and drouin
Great video man. Pretty realistic predictions in my opinion. I could also see Svechnikov dropping. I think Detroit will try to do something to scoop him up. Considering their history of drafting Russians and his brother being in the system. I personally hope the Canucks pick Wahlstrom if he's available. He has Swedish roots and adding him would come close to stocking their offensive cupboard. With at least 14 million in cap space, they shouldn't have a problem signing a top dman through free agency or trade.

You should do a « predraft » and find a fans for every team so they really know their team needs

As a Wings fan a prefer Bouchard or Dobson over Hughes
if you are in the top 10 to pick a draft and you are drafting need over best then you as a gm deserve to be fired ! you always go after the best player , after the 3rd round and going forward it's okay to address team needs but in the top ten you go for best overall , no if and whats buts about it . the best teams that pan out best always go for the best player !
Hey, just wanted to ask for your opinion, if any, on Kotkaniemi. With the U18 last week he seems to be rising a lot, to the point that TSN now has him at #8 and scout Grant McCagg sees him going with Montreal, who's in desperate need for a #1 center.
Montreal would want svechnikov over Zadina in my opinion. But you can’t also run out also teams calling the Hurricanes or Montreal with great offers to help other areas then the wing. I can’t speak for the hurricanes because I don’t know they’re enteral needs or they’re pipeline. I know that the habs could move down if someone like for say Edmonton offers RNH an the 10th for 3..
Sometimes drafting for need is apropriate, but end the of the day when you have the chance to take the conesious 2 you’d call Ottawa or Airzona to see if they wanna move up. What if Ottawa offers karlson to Buffalo…?(no deal) you gotta factor in those realities to perception on how NHL teams operate.
I can see Canes picking Zadina over Svechnikov to play with Necas… Even tho im higher on svechnikov! But are you crazy? Montreal Passing on svechnikov @ 3 and draft Tkabust, i honestly burn my Habs jersey. Don't make me get a heart attack.

No way Habs take Tkachuk over Svechnikov b/c they DESPERATELY need a right handed big scorer with speed and chemistry being another Russian to compliment Chucky & possible prospect Sherbak. They can get centers deeper in the draft or trade up a 2nd round pick with a potential trade to move to 10/11/12 (Edm/NYI) to get Kokaniemen or Kuspari or Veleno. They could sign Stastny or Bozac as a UFA or trade straight up for Nugent-Hopkins or O'Reilly. The Montreal Canadiens have a history (besides McCarron) to pick the best available player, and the best avialable player is Svechnikov. I agree the Chemistry between Necas & Zadina sells Zadina to Carolina at #2. Thank freaking Jesus. We really need a player that plays like Malkin & not Rick Nash 2.0 (Tkachuk) or be it a great player that plays like Kucherov (Zadina.) I'm all in & rolling the dice on a tougher league (OHL) with less games & a 5v5/60 min scoring production ratio above Conner McDavid's. Here's the analytics.

I think teams typically pick their BPAs rather than their need in the 1st round. Later on it's more about need because there's more bust potential.
Do u think Carolina will pick zadina because they have necas?
I get the rangers would like an upgrade on defense, its a need. Although I would say Lindgren, Hajek, Rykov, Day, Deangelo, O'gara, Sproul, and the dude from Aca trade gives us defensive prospect depth, but we don't have a great scoring prospect after Ronning. Gropp is a bust! Howden, Andersson, Chytil are 2way forwards, no other top sniper prospects in system. Rangers have had a top (drafted) scorer since Alexei Kovalev! They need to consider moving up to at least grab Wahlstrom! I like Dobson, reminds me of safe pick, similar to Mark Staal (much better skater, though).
Cool, love the info on Bokk. If what you say is true, he may go before #26. I like the Tarasenko comparison, note….. Rangers chose Mckinnen over him, smh! What do you think of Kravsov or Kaut? Also, did you post a 1st rd prospect nhl comparison yet? If so can you post link?

I like your initial premise, but there is no way in hell the Habs would pass up getting Svech. The Habs would rather trade Pacioretty to get a younger centre than taking Tkachuk over Svech. I understand that you don't take potential trades into account in a mock draft, and it makes some sense. But Tkachuk over Svech is just not happening. Nice vid tho.
IF Svechnikov is still available at 4, He will go to Ottawa no question. Ottawa needs to win now and Boqvist will not be ready for the next couple years while Svechnikov on the other hand will be ready next year. Great video though!

No he doesn't fall. best 5v5 scorer in the draft, impressive analytics the last three years. 3 would be a fall, which is possible if Montreal takes Boquist, a positional need much more than Zadina is. 5 is not happening.
Gabe Vilardi slipped last year, Lawson Crouse in 2015. Svechnikov definetly could slip

I agree that Zadina may go 2nd, but theres no way that MTL will draft Tkachuk over Svechnikov at 3rd! No way!
First of all youve made the mistake of thinking that teams draft the player they need instead of the best player available…they always draft the best player available, and in this case its either Zadina or Svechnikov
Also, Tkachuk is overrated, he never ever produced 1 point per game in his whole career, except for the world junior where he got 9 points in 7 games if i remember correctly, and people also forget that hes 1 year older than everybody else, which shouldve been a huge advantage for him, but it wasnt, he still struggled offensively
Tkachuk has a lot of potential, but hes nowhere near Zadina and Svechnikov offensively
Dahlin is alone in his league for the 1st pick, but Zadina and Svechnikov are both in a league of their own for 2nd and 3rd, they are above everybody else..the top 3 players of this year draft has superstars potential, after that you can put them all in a hat and pick randomly, they are all good players but not superstars level players like the top 3
Anyway, thats just my point of view…i dont see MTL drafting anyone else beside Zadina and Svechnikov in 3rd, otherwise i swear i will burn my MTL jersey!
Do you still have tkachuk going 3 bc that is where i have him as well
