  1. Yes, he seems like a long term project with very little offensive upside. But even though scoring is up, you still need physical guys with size on the back end who can defend. When I think of 2 way Ds, I don't just think of Quinn Hughes. I think of Tyson Barrie and other guys who are average at best offensively and even worse defensively. If you can shut down good players and you're a decent to good skater and smart, you'll have a job at the NHL level eventually. You don't have to score. This sin't the 80s. Again, he's 19 and probably won't be close to ready for prime time until he's 22 or 23, but you can always use a stay at home defenseman who is physical. Tyson Barrie doesn't have a job right now because his skills have diminished AND he was always horrible defensively. It wasn't just the points that made Hughes a Norris Winner. He's also improved significantly on the defensive side. He's far better now than Barrie ever was. No matter how much scoring goes up, you'll always need a guy in your D core who can hit and defend and that's all he does.

  2. So weird that St. Louis would do that.. I wonder what happened behind the scenes there. Super strange to give a third round pick for nothing..

  3. Good luck with Broberg – what EVERYONE seems to forget is that Broberg sat for over a MONTH before he started playing in the playoffs – you all realize that both Dallas and Florida had been through meat grinders right? Now you bring a FRESH player in – who does indeed have talent no doubt about it – what the heck do you think would happen? Broberg wasn't good enough to get into the lineup on a regular basis during the reg season when ALL the players were in the same boat. Now, not saying he's not NHL ready, he is for sure. But 4.6 MILLION per season, and you have to qualify him in two years at FIVE MILLION per if you want to keep him… yep – good luck with. I'd rather keep DRai, McDavid, and Bouchard. Holloway – easily replaced – he wasn't cracking our top 6 anyway and couldn't / didn't do much when not playing wth Drai and McD – and who on St. Loo is comparable to Drai or McD… NO ONE.

  4. It looks like they made a trade and got to keep a couple of really good prospects. I wish my team had done that.

  5. I think you meant that the oilers were going to match one or more of them
But to convince them not to they threw in 2 more pieces
I get you are jealous of the oilers but sheeesh
Did we slap your team around that bad over the years that you hate them so much??
