  1. Oilers also worked out a small deal with Blues for extra comp acquiring a 2028 3rd + prospect Paul Fischer who was a 5th rd pick in 2023 and is currently unsigned as he is playing college hockey at Notre Dame

  2. The undoing of the Oilers is before us. Next to nail in the coffin is when Draisaitil walks

  3. Very smart. For the Oilers it's about cap space come the deadline. They are going to make the playoffs, it's not the regular season this team is worried about. It's the playoffs

  4. Thanks for the update Mike!
    Wow!!!!
Some might say good riddance BUT I disagree!!!! It is a HUGE step, not taken lightly by Oilers management I'm sure, to let 2 young potential future core players go like that. That's why they are given a week to scrutinize the situation inside & out. McD & Draisaitl need solid support players especially on "D" so hopefully Oilers can focus on improving their back end.
I always go back to the KK offer sheet. Habs made the right move not matching Canes' offer….time will tell if Oilers made the right move.

  5. Man, Oilers fans are so delusional & arrogant. They already expect to win the Cup for the next 2-3 years, Iā€™ll put my $ on ZERO. They havenā€™t earned anything

  6. Sad to see them leave; poor asset management from the Oilers, but props to Blues management for putting the screws to Edmonton. Blues forced Oilers hand, gives them flexibility for extensions and trade deadline cap space.

  7. So the Oilers are friends instead of enemies with the Blues that stole their players opposite of an alleged NHL code. Oilers trade with the Blues, embarrasing and ODD. Stan Bowman will destroy the Oilers. You should be talking about the oddity of this trade or lack there of. Oilers acquire a 3rd and a bum prospect from the Blues. BOWMAN = NHL BOZO THE CLOWN!
P.S. the Oilers have 2 open spots on the right side of the defense. CRAZY BOWMAN! Not getting Bouch, Drai, or 97? Oilers = CURSED.

  8. As a Blues fan, it looks like a steal. Butā€¦you have to considerā€¦the Oilers unbelievable track record evaluating first round picks. Remember Jakmeoff? Pullmylarve? Theyā€™re laughing at us. They know their ineptness. They beat us with the long con.šŸ˜‚

  9. Oilers ownership & management problem is they think that they're the smartest people in any room that they're in. Its been that way ever since July 8th 1995 imošŸ˜¢

  10. Of course, I am happy about this news. as they are both solid players–the problem with the Blues is still those NTCs on the blueline.but. at least, they are moving the team back towards playoff contention

  11. The Oilers are thinking outside the box. Everyone else is getting bigger, younger, and faster. They're getting smaller, older, and slower. Fu!@ing brilliant. Just wait, if a significant injury happens to one of their better defensemen, the team will be fauder for the contenders.

  12. I like the blues chances with this move. They didn't give up much, and got 2 recent Round1 selections from the bench of a stacked NHL team. There won't be enough ice in Edmonton for this bruise.
