Trading Nurse would require salary retention of at least $3-4 million, because on average he's about a $6 million player.

Trade Dry and Nurse for Brady Tkachuk. T has four more years at 8.5. and was reported unhappy in Ottawa. No way Edmonton can be successful w 50mill into 4 players (Nurse, Dry ,McD , Bouch ) in two years from now.
This isn't a hard problem, Broberg is not worth $4.5M on the Oilers. Blues offered 2.5x what Broberg himself thought he was worth. It's vindictive lunacy from Armstrong based on some sort of personal vendetta against Bowman. Bowman needs to match on Holloway and never look back.
NMC means Nurse is not going anywhere. There is a 0% chance he will waive his NMC because he wants to win a Cup and the Oilers are the only contender he has a chance to play on.
A Kane trade will cost the Oilers a lot. Ceci and Kulak will cost less to move. However the Oilers have to be in "win now" mode so draft picks are useless.

14 million for Nurse and Broberg is insane to me. Nurse is definitely a serviceable Dman, but he should probably make half of what he actually makes. I know the initial plan for Broberg was to make half what his offer sheet was, but they waited too long.
Imagine a world where they just traded Ceci and also lose out on Broberg…that would be kinda gross tbh.
They are both good player. Quit worrying about money. We just want wins.
