First go pens we need number six.
wrong title
marner at 8.5 and matthews at 10.5 would be great
I wonder if Carolina would be willing to take Zaitsev for a promising prospect like Jake Bean I'm sure the leafs would have to retain a little of the contract but it would be worth it
Matthews at 5-6 years at a lower cap hit is great, 10.5 million for 6 years.
Mattie and Johnny hockey same and same
Matthews and Marner both at 9-9.5 would be ideal. Wishful thinking but doubt it will happen
I hate the whole walking away for nothing argument, especially if you're keeping a player as a own rental. Burke actually got one thing right when he was the GM for Toronto when he said the player never walk away for nothing, you get cap space back. The argument there is that you can always turn around and spend it on a UFA, which is like a trade in itself.
