Wow, I used to subscribe to that back in the day. A nice little publication.

I had a subscription in the early 2000s. When I called to get it set up, I chatted with the main guy about the Czech Posse line for like 20 minutes. Great dude, great mag.

I was trying my hand at becoming a writer and I submitted an article to them back around 1995. It was about how my Dad took me to my first game and how we bonded from the experience. I wrote how I couldn’t wait to take my son to his first game and how sports strengthens father-son relationships and creates lasting memories. I didn’t expect anything to come of it but they called me and said they were going to use my story. They couldn’t pay me but they gave me a free two year subscription which I gladly accepted. Let me tell you what a thrill it was to see my article in The Blueshirt Bulletin. I still have the issue saved with my other treasures. I never made it as a writer but it is one of the highlights of my life.

Oh man now this is a blast from the past…I would buy these every month in the early 2000s.
