What’s the scouting report on him?

    Blais is 28, 6′2″ 205. LW/RW.

He played 53 games with the Blues last season, had 1G 7PTS. Played 15 playoff games in their cup run in 2019. Reading a few comments from Blues fans, injuries derailed his career.

On Elite Prospects his player type is “Agitator” lol

Has some Stanley cup experience I believe, looks like a decent signing. Has some size aswell

  4. NerdPunch

So basically a much most cost effective Podzolzin replacement, with more size.

    I dig it.

  5. Good PTO contract for a vet that has a cup (STL 2019)

Nice deal good to have him in the AHL if he doesn’t make the main squad

Off topic, but if Lankinen still doesn’t have a contract and we’re looking for an NHL caliber goalie, why can’t we sign him to a PTO? He’s generally been a pretty good backup with only one season below .900

The only thing I know about this guy is that Rousell beat the shit out of him once

  9. Smart move from management, has good size and is only 28, and quite a bit of experience at the nhl level both in the regular season and the playoffs, if he can get an nhl deal he wouldn’t be a bad 15th forward at all

    What’s not to like.

The benefit of having the AHL team in ABB are deals like this.

Blais has had a rough last few years for sure, coupled with unfortunate injury luck, let’s not forget that he was good enough at one point to essentially be swapped for Buchnevich. I like this signing, hopefully he can make a positive impact.

Love this signing. Obviously there’s no downside to a PTO here but he’s shown flashes and if he can regain some of his health prior to his injury problems he plays the exact game the team is looking for in its bottom six. Worst case scenario he’s some organizational depth with NHL experience.

Always liked him for hits in fantasy

Like this signing. Upside is he can be a fourth liner for us that hits everything that moves and adds a bit of offensive upside. Not too far removed from a 20 point season

Bro 9 goals in 31 games two years ago, pretty sure the blues picked him over Joshua that year

He fell off hard last year but this is a great flyer to try out

Honestly a bit surprised, I liked the guy in the past. Didn’t realize he fell off last year pts wise, but always seemed like he had decent speed and hits.

  17. Apparently he’s boys with Daniel Sprong. +100 chem.

Screw it. Miller on the first line, Joshua second, Sherwood third and Blaise fourth. Let’s just murder our opponents.

Suspect they’re using the PTO the way that they did a few years ago, giving them veterans to slot in for preseason games so they can rest their main roster without throwing the prospects to the wolves.
