  1. Petry cap hit is 2. something million Motreal kept 1/2 the salary
If your going to write something or show it on YouTube at least get the facts right buddy .

  2. Petry has money retained by both Montreal and Pittsburgh so he’s not that expensive for Detroit and he has a full NMC and may not want to leave his hometown team.

  3. Oilers have zero cap space. And nothing to trade. It would be hilarious if they added Jeff Petry who they chased out of town with Torches and Pitchforks. The fans hated him there and the Oilers got a 2nd and a 5th for him. He's probably not as good now as he was then and he's never managed to equal what he did in Montreal. Petry does only cost $2.343 million vs Detroit's CAP. He makes 6.25 million total but various teams , including the habs ($2.34 Million) and Pittsburgh ($1.562) have taken bits of his cap. Petry is 36. It might be the worst possible move to trade away a player when he is too young and developing and then trade to get him back when he is too old and mouldering.
Savard is responsible but he's not very mobile. He does it all but skate. Savard is 33 and won't require 2 first round picks to get.
    Neither guy
    is all that good.
Adam Larsson is the best of the guys in this scenario and only 31 but he's on the last year of a $4 million contract and he's due for a raise. he's the number two defenseman on what has been a very solid defense He would cost you at least two first round picks and likely isn't for sale.
