The Kolosov Conundrum | HW 6.48

Welcome to High and Wide Radio, Episode 48 of Season 6! Your hosts, Jim Iacovone and Jack Smith, are back with a packed episode of Flyers news and insights.

We kick off with the latest on Alexei Kolosov, the young goalie who’s causing quite a stir with his reluctance to join the Flyers. Jim and Jack break down Danny Brier’s candid comments from the Nasty Knuckles podcast and debate Kolosov’s future with the team. Is homesickness the real issue, or is there more to the story?

Next, we dive into breaking news about Ryan Johansson being placed on unconditional waivers for a material breach of contract. What does this mean for the Flyers’ cap space, and how might it impact future moves?

The discussion then shifts to the intriguing possibility of acquiring young goalie Yaroslav Askarov from the Nashville Predators. Should the Flyers kick the tires on this potential trade, and what could it mean for their goaltending future?

Finally, we look ahead to the rookie games against the New York Rangers, where Matvei Michkov could make his debut in a Flyers jersey. Jim and Jack share their excitement and cautious optimism for these highly anticipated matchups.

  1. Fedatov was supposed to be on flyers like 4 years ago he was going to be in nhl first

This goalie has to do his ahl time but goalie spots are open with hart gone
Just stop crying play your contract

Maybe extra money go for a center in a trade or sign a guy who flyers think will be here like York

Danny and Jones dome good job

  2. These young players do not understand how fast time goes. Be professional, put the work in, and gain the experience/lessons you were meant to learn, instead of being avoidant (it's just an entry level contract, they are quick, learn and move on).
