Seguin is a great player, but if he wanted to be on the 1st or 2nd lineup, he would've played his heart out and then he could've possibly gotten his rightful position as a center too. But that's just my opinion. I'll be happy to welcome Seguin back if he was willing to do his best. But right now, he seems content with the Stars so I'll just go by that for now.
Well Boston wanted to replace the departure of Horton and Dallas needed a center, I don't think we can jump to a conclusion about who got the best of the trade as it is right now, of course Seguin has looked better, but its only been around 16 games played so far. So let's wait at least a season or 2 before calling anyone ''winner''.
Just because he is doing really well with the stars does not mean he would be doing this well with the bruins. Just as long as the bruins make the playoffs (which they will) I am good.
People who are saying trading Seguin was a mistake for Boston are wrong. We are not banging out head because Seguin is a skilled player, that scores in bursts when he gets hot (seen in his rookie playoff run in 2012) but he could not consistently put up good points since his type of player does not fit well with the bruins system of good hard, rough hitting hockey and playing in the dirty areas. Makes more sense that he's having success playing with Dallas.
Also, to add in to my point, Marchand is in a slump because he is a similar kind of player, but he brings a little more to the table like being a pest to opposing players, plus he doesn't shy away from conflict like it seemed Seguin did when he was with us.
To everyone saying that Boston lost out on the trade, it could be argued either way. As a Bruins fan, Seguin does have alot of talent, but he didn't really adjust his game to the way that the Bruins organization plays. Chip and chase, rugged, dirty area goals, playing physical, etc. Eriksson's play style is more suitable for the Bruins than Seguin's, in regards to two-way play. Smith and Morrow are great young players as well. Seguin will strive and be more productive with the way Dallas plays.
Miss you so much Seguin!!!! Can't even begin to list all the reasons why the Bruins should have kept him 🙁 I'm just happy he is doing so well in Dallas <3

poor boston.
Eriksson who?
Bruins should not have given up on him
As a Flames fan, I'm not even mad. Watching Benn and Seguin together was magical.
Wow SEGUIN !
Boston must be hitting their heads on tables right now
oh Boston you done messed up
Okay. The season's under way. Might be time for the Flames to get an honest to God goalie!.
His demeanor deserves applause
Ever since we made the trade wit Dallas. Seguin has been playing great and Eriksson has been ok. I want Seguin back

I think it's safe to say that while Edmonton got shut out, they didn't allows this to happen…just saying
still think this was a good trade Bruins?
Dallas Stars Tyler Seguin scored 4 goals (5 points) and he wasn't even the game's top scorer – captain Jamie Benn chipped in 1 goal and 5 assists.
Great move Boston 😉
Good thing he didn't celly like Joe Thornton would have.

Don't agree with the Bruins trading him but they did what they thought was best for the team. Hope he tears the league up for years to come.
boston you suck
seguin that beauty
Benn Seguin Nichushkin are going to tear it up in like 2 or 3 years
Damn, I really miss this guy playing for my Bruins! I wonder if they regret trading him….
So happy that Boston traded him 😊
Seguin is trying to act Russian by not smiling 😂
How about these two!
Can’t believe this was 8 years ago already, feels like only 3 or 4 years. Favourite players are getting up there now 🙁
