I was at that game and if it wasn’t us specifically (mighta been) I’m positive our group was at least part of starting the spontaneous **DSP** chant in the stadium after that goal.

Man I’m so glad Doc Emrick called our Stanley Cup run, his calls were absolutely electric.

DSP played the best hockey of his life during that cup run. Always be a Cap hero.

Caps don’t win the cup without DSP. That goal was so electrifying. Up to that point, due to past performance, I still thought they were gonna blow it. I knew then that the cup was finally theirs.

I wish I could forever watch in my brain the highlights of that cup run while having the audio of everyone telling me we wouldn’t do it.

anyone can be a hero, which is why depth is so important. DSP wasn’t someone who would have an excellent regular season, but he was a competitor. He battled hard, especially at this stage of his career. Being in the lineup at that point in the playoffs wasn’t something that was a given for him, and his competitive nature is what kept him in the line up, and it’s what helped the Caps win the cup.

The bounces the Caps were getting this run…no one was beating them.

The way DSP dives to reach for that puck, and gets it right past Fleury, will forever be one of the best goals I’ve ever seen, especially considering when it happened.
Couple this, along with “The Save” from Braden, and it was just an amazing SCF.

The wildest part of this clip is that for a second there, I thought this was a home game because the crowd was so loud after the goal. In my head, I’m like, wait, we beat them 4-1 in the series and won it in Vegas, this can’t be at home but that sounds like a home crowd.
