With the batter writhing in agony while being attended, the pitcher's manager decides that's a good time (1:13) to go out and give his pitcher a fist bump. Completely tone-deaf.
Ok, nothing personal. That Pitcher would have to be disturbed to intentionally hit that batter. Second, the natural thing IMO was for the Catcher to go out and be with his teammate. Third, if you even worked with kids that manager was out there to assess and calm down his pitcher to see if he was able to continue. What did you want him to do stay in the dugout and scream obscenities at his pitcher for hitting a batter? The parents and crowd even seemed to be supportive which is not always the case.
When I played, I usually had a closed stance, crowded the plate as much as the Ump would let me. As a consequence, I got hit by pitches, quite a few times. Getting hit in the face[and we didn't have the kind of batting helmets the kids have today!]or anywhere on the head was a bad experience.
Having played LL, it happens. I was hit a couple times. It sucks, but I highly doubt it was deliberate. These kids are still young and don’t have the best control over their pitches yet. If anything, it’ll make the pitcher be more careful next time.
Everybody that ever played little league baseball has gotten beaned a time or two…I did, it hurt. Depends on where it gets ya, on how fast ya get back up…Glad he got up, hope that wasn't a concussion.

There's only one spot to get hurt and the ball found it. 😮

Coach was no help either.
I know how accidents like that feels when it happens to other athletes
I hope he is good
I hope the batter is alright and he gets to enjoy his time in the Little League World Series.
Picher & Catcher should have been ejected. Wake up ump.
