  1. a bit of a correction, celebrini was the best player in the draft… demidov was the most talented. it might seem like semantics but the distinction is important.

  2. I'm a Leafs fan and i wish we didn't signed 4 players over 10 million i certainly respect the Habs GM he is a genius and Brad Marchand was right when he laughed at the Leaf because he won like 3 cups

  3. You forgot Ghule at LD

    He’s the true #1 defenseman

Matheson will be gone by next season’s trade deadline if Hutson can prove he’s ready

  4. Great Video . Habs are building a legit prospect pool crammed full of potential and high end skill . This team is going to be really good for a long time

  5. GoHabsGo
Laine is going to be a boss
    Welcome to the family
    Condolences 🙏 your father

  6. I'd rather highlight the part at around 1:24 where he mentions it doesn't really matter in the end personal stats, but about winning.

  7. so tired of hearing Laine on the second line, do u put Matthews on the second line? Laine has ego and wants to be a Starr. u cater to ur Starr. if he's not first line this whole thing is a waste.

  8. Also most of Slafkovskys 50 points came after the all star-break, so he was basically a point per game in the 2nd half of the season

  9. Finnish interest is obviously on Laine, but also on Oliver Kapanen from the Kapanen hockey clan. He's playing in Swedish league next season in Timrå IK, where his father Kimmo is an sporting director and the former Panthers captain Olli Jokinen is coaching. All are basically from the same city, Kuopio, although Oliver was borm in Timrå. Also his father Kimmo played hockey as a goalie. Oliver's uncle is Sami Kapanen and cousin is Sami's son Kasperi Kapanen, who both have played in NHL. Kasperi plays in St. Louis Blues. And also grandpa Hannu played and then coached. He played on a national team level. The local team in Kuopio is Kalpa, in which all of them have played or coached at some point. One of the club owners is Kimmo Timonen. who won the Stanley Cup in Blackhawks in 2015.

  10. thank you for respecting my Club De Montreal….( native NYer)… but put some more on our lil bundle of joy

  11. Montréal media aren’t any more brutal than in other NHL cities; it’s the level of attention that’s being paid to the the team by fans and media and the expectations that come with being the winningest franchise in NHL history that set it apart. It’s pretty simple really, if a player is perceived as a hard worker they are going to be appreciated by both media and fans. Of course, players are expected to play up to their potential and in accordance with how much they are getting paid. That’s why apart from skills, the new Habs management puts an emphasis on drafting players who have an excellent work ethic and who they perceive as being confident and mature.

  12. You forgot Logan Mailloux, who slipped in his draft year as he should of went much higher (we all know the story.) Made the All-star game in the AHL last season, may end up being MTL's no1 D in 3 – 4years

  13. You forget to mention San jose as up coming team. They already have two great center. #1 Defenseman and now a #1 goalie.

  14. Some fans say that Cole Caufield is overrated are terribly mistaken. Do you see how fast he skates? Do you see him scoring a goal purely because he's a sniper? Don't you see that bullet precise wristshot? The man is deadly accurate with that shot and he makes a great option at the point when Montreal is on the powerplay. He played in all 82 games last season and scored 28 times. Other people say Cole hasn't even scored 30 goals yet, how's he gonna score 40 or 50? Well, yeah, that's true, but one year older can make a huge difference. Richer scored 50 goals during the 1987/88 campaign in 72 games, then 51 goals in 75 games during the 1989/90 season. Cole can do this, too, with the possibility of replacing 50 goals with 40!

  15. As much as I hate to admit it as a Habs fan, Matthews is far superior compared to Laine. There's no contest there. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to see what MSL can do with him.

  16. He's 26 , if he was 34, OK this might be a big risk. But he's 26. He's literally entering his prime, and is feeling good about himself. What an absolute steal.

  17. They're going for players with potential and young age. They don't want to build for NOW, but for the next 5 years and longer. Having a good team, and keeping it good, is knowing when to take risks, when to let go, and when to play it safe.

  18. For everyone that doesn’t think the habs have a chance at making the playoffs might want to do a little research. The rangers in the 2003/04 season had 69 points the next season they had 100 points and made the playoffs

  19. Great video, habs fans have been patient in rebuilding for the first time I’ve ever seen and it’s starting to pay off.

  20. Wow, seriously great video!
Like Eck, H Psych, and Johnny H all rolled into one. Tight edits with effects, insights, wow. I wish I subscribed 6 months ago. That video must have taken a lot of work. Thank you. I took in a Bell Centre game last season and it was very cool. Cheers.

  21. Laine will put it together this year if he stays healthy.

    – he will be well supported by good leadership
    – MSL will be his daddy
    – he’s in a good place mentally, just proposed to his gf
    – he’s matured a lot and physically should be in his prime years

  22. If he can score 6 goals in 18 games with mental health issues and a shitty team I think he will one day score 60
