  1. Injuries is the key. They're definitely stronger on paper than the last two seasons. Like way stronger. If Dach is back for close to the full season and with the addition of Laine, those are two huge elements. Add to that the continued development of Slafs and Caufield plus one year further maturation of that young goalie tandem and their entire blueline. Does that mean playoffs this year? Maybe but probably not. Still, there will be more entertaining games this year than we've seen in a few years from the Habs.

    (and thank you, Shannon)

  2. you did your homework.

if roy isnt top 6 hes in laval.
i want laine playing with armia and devo.
cant play anderson bottom 9 .need to get him going so he can gtfo.
    gohabsgo

  3. Curious to hear your take.

Ooo Primeau is so not the guy.
Im looking to see youngsters play a lot of games and win a spot or not.
Hopefully they still finish near the bottom of the league.

  4. MSL is safe unless it's a disaster, as long as everyone progresses and they are in the wild card mix all is well.

  5. Harvey Pinard is injured until at least November with a broken leg donโ€™t forget. Habs injury bug couldnโ€™t even wait until September before it struck lol

  6. St Louis's job is safe at least part way into the 2025/ 26 season. For this coming season though, he's not going anywhere.

  7. I know this is outta no where but I can see Crosby jumping in an replacing some of the deadweight next offseason. Just a thought. Always heard he wanted to be a Hab

  8. They did go for Askarov.

Hughes is doing his job to make this team competitive all while trying not to block the young prospects and not selling the farm.

Matheson needs to go , if not this season then in the offseason or by next yearโ€™s trade deadline, so to unclog the D,

Ghule could then slide back to his LD which would open up RD for Reinbacher or Mailoux

Barron better show some progression otherwise his seat could be taken

DVO needs to move on as well for Beck to come in at 3C/4C

Anderson if he doesnโ€™t bounce back needs to move on as well, give up a second rounder to move him I donโ€™t care

Armia / Gally decent veterans to keep around if they can chip in offensively.

Evans Iโ€™d like to keep another 2-3 years at bottom 6 C, good faceoffs / PK / 5v5

  9. This is not the year for Saint-Louis to be on the hot seat. But it's coming soon if we don't see a good bump or if the team is a very bad mess. They might just clean up what left of Bergevins guys behind that bench if the crap hit the fan. (If there any left) That I could see happening. If it happen, and they name a very seasoned NHL coach as a assistant we know that the clock is now ticking for Martin Saint-Louis. The Montreal Canadiens should never baby first NHL head coaching job, let alone your very first coaching job at any level. But the guy got a pass because of the current rebuild situation, as soon as Kent Hughes think the Habs on the ice are now ready to compete the patience with the coaching staff will run out quickly.

  10. Nice presentation…..look forward to more. You a Boston fan….I'm taking back my compliment….๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…
    Keep Marty.

  11. No playoffs this year. Marty is safe. Still a mystery what a healthy Dach can bring to the team. It would be great to find out this year!

  12. No they are not supposed to make playoffs nor are they pretending to be contenders like Canucks are pretending to be.

They are meant to compete and be in the mix for wildcard late into season, by next year yes they should be competing for a playoff spot and the pressure will be on from both ownership and fans

But I gotta tell you, I just want them to keep going in the direction they are going.

Jeff, Kent and Marty have a vision for building a team, with a certain kind of culture

Iโ€™ve checked out of following and supporting the Canucks, new Jim same Jimbo, retarding the inevitable rebuild just so that Aqualini can cash in a few home playoff games, no thanks.

Nothing in the cupboards and not much to look at on the counter

    4 top 6 forwards
    2 top 4 D

    A #1 goalie that canโ€™t stay healthy

Ainโ€™t gonna cut it against the likes of Oilers, Knights, Avalanche, Stars, Preds, Kings.

The Pacific got better this year even the Sharks, Ducks, Kraken wonโ€™t be the same teams they were last year.

No more guaranteed 2 points up and down the Coastโ€ฆ

  13. Rebuild momentum continues, no chance at playoffs this year, too many strong teams in the Atlantic. St-Louis' job is safe so long as skill and character continue to grow

  14. D needs more experience to get into the playoffs. I think this tems gives up too many goals to make the playoffs.

  15. I think the Canadiens are coming to the tail end of this rebuild – time will tell but there's a lot of promise on this team.

  16. Martyโ€™s job is very safe. It is not possible for him to be fired this year. Next itโ€™s possible maybe but this year I think even if they ended dead last he wouldnโ€™t be fired

  17. It feels like covid is the best thing to happen to the Habs. Their playoffs drought should have been as long as the Senators', but they squeezed in the playoffs in 2020 because of covid (and stunned the Penguins) and again benefited from a weak, seven team division to make the playoffs in 2021 and somehow reached the finals.

It's easy to think Habs fans are a lot more patient towards the rebuild with the Finals run memories still relatively fresh on their mind. But I don't know how long they will keep this positive attitude

  18. I don't know a single Habs fan that says we're in the playoffs this year. I'm fine with that.

  19. Barron in a package deal with Calgary 1st pick and something else at the deadline for Crosby and we goood ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

  20. I'll be rooting for them to grab a wild card spot. Laine hopefully rebounds and Dach stays healthy for 82 ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿฟ

  21. Montreal was 20-36 in regulation last season and 10-16 after regulation last season. They have a long way to go to being a playoff team, and I don't think they're going to make much progress next season.

  22. Trading Suzuki was the biggest mistake VGK has made. He's a stud and Vegas basically gave him up for nothing. (Traded Pacioretty for nothing)
