I’ve seen several rankings of the prospect pool and this one is the lowest by far. Most seem to have the Flames around 10th.
With that said, the common opinion of the Flames prospect pool is that it has a lot of decent pieces but no guaranteed stars. There are a few players who could become a top line forward, top pairing defence man, or starting goalie but no one that is almost guaranteed to be one of these players.
The thing that should be interesting is how the next season goes for the prospects. A large portion of the most recent acquisitions are players who were good value picks. These are the kind of players who could see big jumps in how they’re ranked in their draft+1 or draft+2 seasons.
