I’m yet to hear a decent argument on why Mac deserved it. It’s the equivalent of Fleury winning the vezina over vasy. Career achievement award
MacKindergarten didn’t deserve it. Kuch did everything to earn it, he deserved it. Kuch is by far the better hockey player. Once again, the bias against Tampa Bay is showing.
Can we start the 24-25 season already so I can stop being so bitter about this?! I’m ready for Kuch to raise the bar even higher and move on from this number 1 BS of an mvp vote.
It’s all about the Media. Have lost faith in NHL awards for awhile just like the Allstar game is a show. Both great players but Kuch should have won it hands down. For lightning players to win anything they have to stand on their heads. Look at point and the numbers he puts up yet the media don’t even talk about him when they mention top players

Mackinnon is a good player, but he’s overrated imo. The Avs fluked into a cup in 2022, have done absolutely fuck all outside of that. Kucherov is Russian, pissed off a ton of traditional hockey market boomers and writers, so they gave it to the new golden goose to make everyone feel good. Don’t forget they also brought out that clown to ridicule Kucherov during the NHL awards.
I came here to say Kucherov equally deserved it but after saying MacKinnon is overrated im just floored. Watch him play
You could make a case that Mac won rightfully, but you can’t make a case for the absurd points disparity in the voting whem multiple writers just left Kuch off entirely. The vote didn’t reflect how close the race actually was.
As a non-Tampa fan, the fact that Kucherov had so many points over Point was definitely a reason why he deserved MVP.
