F*ck Your Team: Why I Hate the 2024-2025 Montreal Canadiens | NHL Season Preview

A lot of people are fans of the Montreal Canadiens fans. I am not one of them. I’m going through the entire Habs organization – from the roster to the coaches to the offseason acquisition – and giving my prediction for how this team will fare this year.

  1. For now I just have to applaud the management for focusing so much on creating a good team culture with their picks and signings, and they have shown with Sean Monahan that going to Montréal is a pretty good place to rejuvenate a career, which should help attract free agents, a major issue given that you're dealing with the highest taxes and arguably most obsessive fans in the league

  2. "they act like their championship werent easy like bro there was 6 teams" buddy your team were one of them as well 💀

  3. YOU HAVE TO BE one of the toronto maple laughs team mascott !!! we will be in the playoffs if were healthy and we will always beat toronto loser !!!

  4. Slafkovsky had more points than bernier last year at a younger age and bernier regressed big time yet slafkovsky improved. Slaf is a beast that contract will be an absolute steal along with caufield and suzuki the habs are set up very well easily one of the best rebuilds going forward

  5. It’s funny when bruins fans or leaf fans try to cut up any teams the leafs haven’t won a cup since 67 and only 1 playoff round in 20+ years and the bruins have only won one cup since the early 70’s lol

  6. Tell me you are an EA NHL GM without telling me you are an EA NHL GM. Absolutely ridiculous comments on players you apparently never watch played. My guess is that you are an Ottawa Senators fans.

  7. I appreciate your attempt to cover every team but there's many mistakes here in your assessment of habs players. Like saying that Barron has some solid stay at home play or that Roy will "get a shot at the bottom 6". Barron is abysmal outside of his occasional offensive scoring and will be fighting for a roster spot, and Roy is going to fight for that last spot in the top 6 along with Newhook. I also don't think Matheson is underrated, Savard is not the worst defensive D, maybe stats wise but he's got the biggest defensive responsiblities. Also I love Caufield like everybody else but he's clearly not the best forward. Suzuki is right now, but the level of play Slafkovsky has shown in the second half of the season , if maintained, would put him at number 1.

  8. Oh so you don't watch this team and know nothing about them, cool.

You use the fact that they have 3 top 5 picks as an argument that Marty should be doing better with the talent they have, while ignoring that only one of those picks has actually played on the team.

Most of the picks this front office has made haven't yet made the team.

Caufield might be the 3rd best forward on this team, but Laine might just make him the 4th. Even Dach might push him to 5th if he stays healthy.

  9. Top 6 looks fantastic with the addition of Laine, our bottom 6 is not great except for Evans that is a very useful 4th line center and maybe Roy if he makes the team. I agree for goaltending, I just wish they would make a big trade for Askarov, Fowler is great in the minors but I believe Askarov is still the better one

  10. MSL has the elevated intellect and experience to keep players growing as they proceed through their careers. Caufield? His shooting was at below 9%….as he took over a hundred more shots the Suzuki. That has to change unless he gets the same solid point total. Other wise he can be dangled at the deadline. Slav will rock as he still develops. Your take on the D is good, but you are too rough on Monte. Fowler is the future goalie…in 2 years. Yes, Dach is absolutely the key to the Habs pushing up to the wild card competition.

  11. I will never understand why people can't just talk about their favorite teams. some people I swear talk about the habs so much they gotta be their favorite team. Like i could only tell you 4 or 5 players on the leafs but i get some leafs fans could name the entire roster of laval and tell ya how bad every player is get a life

  12. I liked the video, despite not watching lots of Montreal games you still made a fair assessment of the team and where it’s going, it’s just that you said a lot of what the crazy part of the fanbase would call heresy.

Do not compliment Matheson in any way shape or form, same for Primeau, don’t hate on Savard, Roy or Monty …. idk why but it triggers them. Roy is also top6 or at the very least middle6, not bottom.

Fowler is the eventual #1 goaltender as of right now, the defense is developing, so is the offense and they added Laine, i still think MTL is 1 top6 player and 1 top2 defenseman short to be truly a contender even if we sped up everyone’s development and everything went above average which is very very optimistic.

  13. Most goalies hit in their late 20’s early 30’s and Monty has had nothing but awful teams in front of him his whole career (Florida included). He had a 9.03 save % last year on a bottom five team. This video won’t age well.

  14. I won’t dispute much said, but while they had one of the best 1st lines in the league, they had no secondary scoring since lines 2,3 and 4 were at the bottom of the league in scoring. If 3 lines aren’t scoring guess which direction play is going so that’s why goaltending is hard to evaluate. With Dach back and Laine they will have 2 solid lines and Hutson on the PP. More goals and time fora goalie to breathe

  15. I think you really underestimate Samuel Montembeault. He's not a star by any means but is definitely a starter. He just had to deal with one of the most ass defensive structure in the NHL. The only experienced players are Mastheson, a good offensive defensmen and Savard, at best a fourth or fifth defensive defensmen. Being behind that plumets goalies standard stats, you just have to look what happenned with Allen once he got traded to New Jersay

  16. Well teams that pay crazy taxe and cold cities always are going to be bad teams , greed infected the nhl a long time ago

  17. People actually believe that teams these days could survive playing against MEN from the old days😂
Imagine if today’s NHL player had to play using the old rules!!😳
    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  18. MSL inherided a team in a total rebuilt who before Hughes had no development in AHL at all….last year they were a threat and never gave up. I can see why you only have less them 3k subscribers because you are not a hockey fan but a hater.

  19. Im a mtl fan and im definelty 100% in accord to the last guy comment in the video when it comes to the f*cking legacy glazing of the Canadiens. Everytime they glaze the past i cringe without control.

  20. Son its clear you have no hockey knowledge at all and are only posting fanboy opinions of NHL teams. Your first hockey lesson is to learn and understand what goes on when any of the 32 teams announce a full rebuild. To not say what almost every hockey pundit or sportscaster is saying that the Canadiens management have so far basically done a perfect rebuild up to now and the future looks bright for Montreal with the wealth of highend young players and prospects

  21. I actually thought Montembault had better numbers over the last two years, even though the team had zero wins

  22. As a habs fan I don't think anything was particularly unfair or anything except maybe giving a bit more cred to their D prospects
