  1. Nothing to celebrate and means nothing. Isles system is still weak and bottom tier in nhl. Isles only moved up thanks to louzer keeping first for once as eiserman dropped into his soggy lap. And isles moved up thanks to b's, tb, pens, oil having such bad systems from years of trading picks away to go for it.
Eiserman can score goals but still has big ?'s. The rest are typical louzer wait and see throw dart picks. None of them will be on the roster to start the season and doubtful any of them will get a call-up during season as louzer's overpaid long-term bums are secure long term. No roster spots for you prospects. Not like isles have any grade A type prospects ready to push the old slugs for a roster spot. That's why louzer picks euros/college guys and hopes. No two year window to sign them. Louzer can wait it out hoping some of them pan out. The price louzer must pay since he can't get into position in draft to get the sure fire guys from the chl jrs. in the first round with the two year window to sign. Louzer draft development = weak so no louzer can't be congratulated for a few notch move up the prospect rankings based on one dropping talent falling to isles in draft. And pulkkenen now injured wont be in n. america to get development. Probably the same for odelios once again. So what good does it do to draft euros who wont come over to n. am. for development? Maybe they know they will be ishkatoved by louzer? At least nuemi came over to play in ohl for p0 s dale hunter. Happy b'day to sneaky pete the last isle 50 g 100 pt. man.

  2. lol Gil,we have a skilled top six wing. Problem is he’s playing in the khl because senile Lou doesn’t let the kids play. Not sure why you’re excited for the season to start?Just to watch the same mediocre team again. Even with duclair and this year’s Russian we’re still not good enough! I used to be excited every year to see what rookie is going to make the team. Of course that’s been ruined with the fossil. 21 years and counting and it’s ridiculous he still has a job.

  3. I don’t think Duclair & Tsyplakov are making islanders contenders and they lost a lot of grit and have no one to protect their top players. Let’s remember all the other much closer to contention teams improved plus devils will be healthy. I can only hope that Sorokin playing better and Roy as coach will help BUT I don’t see this team getting anywhere more than possibly a 6th seeded spot in playoffs, and that’s a push. I’m excited for the next season after where I hope and pray Lou retires and the islanders are closer to unloading the dead weight. So I guess I can say 2026 is my excited season. Of course I look forward to this season of hockey in general being I’ll be home healing from spine surgery. I also honestly look forward to you and locked on islanders all the time! I think the most important impact is Roy’s system, can it make that much of a difference.

  4. I like Holmstrom on a third line with Pageau there’s speed and defense there I am scared that the islanders don’t have a tough guy with guys like Rempe being a bully. Wonder if islanders make a move or trade to maybe get someone like Deslauriers or maybe Olivier to name a few. Maybe they should’ve kept Johnston.

  5. I feel the bottom already fell out and the islanders will continue to plummet until old Lou is gone and free of his egotistical one dimensional vision and his unrealistic goal of “going all in” year after year. As proof that his way doesn’t work the islanders went to competitors to barely making it with him as a gm. If it was put in a graph you’d see a steady decline in every area from drafting to coaching to players. Lou won his lat cup 21 yrs ago, doesn’t that say something. Neil Smith isn’t wrong. As far as Duclair goes sometimes a player is good enough to get something in return but not good enough to make a difference in a team to warrant keeping him. Only teams I’m not worried about or the islanders MAY edge out is pens – getting older and older, same as the caps, the sens got their goalie (on paper) sooooo we will see

  6. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Where do The Islanders ranked this year? There getting better, they're not at the very bottom anymore. Who were the Top Prospects? Cole Eisernman high end shot, legit Top 6. Marcus Gidlov even though he was drafted 147th, he can get it together. Jesse Polkinen, he can get it together, as soon as he can gets healthy. Neil Smith, was very. critical of The Islanders, sounds like he's still holding a grudge. Anthony DuClair will be wearing #11 good choice. HAPPY 🎂 , PIERRE TURGEON very good career in the Hall of Fame who knows what his career would be if it weren't for Dale Hunter. Hear from you later, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
