Man, this team has sucked for so long that you don’t realize it might not be a bad thing to have a contract negotiation drag on with a young star.
It means we have a young star again.

Yeah, the Yzerman office likes to leak information like this. Very credible.

Remember when Larkin and the Team were “far apart” and a short time later he was signed?

>In a round up of Restricted Free Agency news around the league, The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta delivered bad news to Red Wings fans with respect to their **too** Swedish RFAs, Lucas Raymond and Jonathan Berggren.
How am I supposed to take this seriously when they can’t even be bothered to proofread the very first sentence of their article?
Problemcharlie
Meh. Berggren getting released is the most likely thing to happen with him and Yzerman is a known grinder with his contracts to his best players and doesn’t let much if any info get out of the building, going back to Tampa Bay. Neither is surprising

You know. In sports today, a lot of players are motivated purely by business decisions. The most money, the most eyes on them, etc. Hockey has never struck me as being that way. I wonder if that’s really true though. I feel like I’m way ready to believe that players stay with their teams because of culture, and growing up with that organization, or proximity to their home.
It always surprises me when I see stuff like money being the primary motivator. (Not that I think it is for Raymond.)

Good old Chris Illitch. Sick of that name.

Ive been saying a Berggren trade would happen since June. Hearing that Ray isnt close is a agent move 100%, and to me tells me theyre talking and a deal is absolutely on the horizon
