Earlier today the @UticaCometsAHL put out a nice documentary on New Jersey Devils goaltending prospect Nico Daws.
I thought this was extremely well done and gave us some insight into Nico Daws as a player and a man.

Seems like a good kid. He had some great games when he came up. Then they played him too much, the bad team defense caught up with him, and the overall numbers didn't look so good. Same thing happened with Jake Allen – great start, played a lot, eventually came down to earth. What a crappy year it was.
I think he could make it happen for himself.
Documentary was OK. I like the effort but it felt a bit scattered/lacked a clear thread throughout.
Daws seems like a great guy, but let’s hold up on the “potentially the next franchise goaltender” label. He has an .894 save percentage through his first 46 NHL games.
I really like Daws and I hope he has a long NHL career ahead of him, but I’m not sold yet.
I'll forever love my Nico Daws Stadium Series jersey. I met him at Sports Minded Unlimited and just like Lazar he was awesome to talk to. I'm shocked they didn't included his record-breaking performance in the documentary at Metlife, really shocked.

He did have some flashes. They pushed him hard and defense was brutal! Couple periods last year he faced 20+ shots, that's crazy. We will see…good kid
I will always say a goalie is only as good as the defense in front of him. Nico and Akira got a raw deal, and you saw it with Vitek this year. When the Devils defense sucked the goalies suffered. I personally never thought Vitek was that good, but Devils defense in 22-23 was very solid with Hamilton, Severson, Marino, Graves and Siegenthaler. Let’s hope their new additions pan out this season, and everyone can stay healthy. Let’s go Devils!
Bold prediction. Daws will be the deciding factor if the Devils make the playoffs when the injury bug hits.
