From what I hear from talk show they say Sid money is there but the hold up is how much more years he wants to play
The Red Wings really need to get Raymond signed ASAP -he's a key piece of their future. Mercer is another player that needs to be signed ASAP by the Devils, they need to have him in their lineup. Wowsa is my reaction to Swayman wanting $ 10 Mil–personally,if I;m the Boston GM, I find a way to get it done. Some agents make things really difficult for GMs ,but, supposedly, they have their clients' best interest at the heart of the bargaining.Thanks for another excellent report, I am so ready for training camps to start.

Letang is still a top 5 to 7 D man in this league. He just keeps getting better with age.
Crosby is waiting til he gets back in town fully to get ready for the season. They'll do a big press conference and get fans excited for the season.
Sid is relaxing and decompressing from the season as he always does.
Already been reported that they agree on the price of the contract. Now its down to Sid, how many years he wants to keep playing.
Also, he already said he wants to be a Penguin for life. As a commenter stated above. He wants to get the years right. Doesnt want to retire from the Pens while under contract & force them to carry dead cap.

Honestly I follow all the penguins actual news reports very closely and in that circle this is fake news and alot of what you see is low level sports news reports especially from OUTSIDE of the actual Penguins news agency's and is BS poke and hope reports to talk Crosby leaving Pittsburgh into existence because they either hate the Pittsburgh Penguins or want him to go to the teams they report on especially in the Canadian market where they can't stand seeing Sid play for a non Canadian team… Its fake news and it's trashy, pathetic, and desperate if you ask me.

The Malkin situation Malkin has already came out and said the rumours are not true and that he plans to play out his contract. And Sid was apart of hiring Dubas Crosby sought out Dubas and was apart of hiring him. So I don't believe Crosby would have wanted Dubas to get the job if this rumour was a serious outcome. Everything being said right now is purely just a rumour and a headline which drawns people in and should be treated as so until there is a actual statement from them saying otherwise
Crosby should just leave, and go to Colorado, Boston or Montreal. They all need him. Montreal does not need Letang.

Crosby to Colorado makes the most sense
Swayman is an excellent goalie I think he can be one of the best. But right now he should be considerate because the Bruins don’t have a enough money to sign 10 million. Even next year like. You have to think Don Sweeney had no clue this was coming. At the most you think he’d probably want like 8 million. And he says he loves Boston so much, why wouldn’t he be willing to take a pay cut? Like I understand he wants his money but you just have to be considerate of the team around you. Like just sign a two or three year deal and will reach when we come to it in a few years. I feel like he needs one more year of being a full-time starter but this needs to be like a prove it contract. Like I just think it’s kind of absurd he wants that amount of money

Whiny baby athletes and owners have destroyed the quality of sports. Not even fun to go watch anymore and pay 300 for 2 people to eat drink park and watch a bucnh of whiny generational babies play sports.
Word around Pittsburgh is Sid hasn't signed because of vacations being taken. I dont have no idea how true that is, but that is coming from a sports person here in Pittsburgh i do have trust in so take that for what is worth… I also heard that Dubas is building a team around Sid's contract. They know roughly what it will be, but will need to tweek depending on what else happens to the roster. I have zero concerns that Sid is going anywhere. He understands the value to his legacy of playing for only 1 team, and hates change.
If they take deals, I’m switching from a leaf fan to Edmonton.
People should bear in mind that Demidov has played 1 VHL game and 2 KHL games. Everything else is in the MHL. Michkov played 2 full season in the KHL before coming over. Playing next season in MTL might be rushing things a bit.
Btw, for all the Habs fan fueled Michkov-Demidov drama, Michkov as said repeatedly in the past he loves Demidov's game & follows him closely.
About the penguins: Letang had expressed his interest in being traded to Montreal BEFORE he inked his long term deal in Pittsburgh. Malkin said in a Russian interview that he wants to play in Russia before he can’t play anymore. It’s in Russian so the translation is off, but basically he said he will evaluate his condition at the end of the year and see if he has to hang it up

Bruins biggest mistake was trading ullmark before having swayman signed. After trading ullmark that immediately gave swayman all the leverage in this situation in my opinion.
As for his prospects for playing in the NHL, Malkin has insisted in the past and I quote: “Only for Pittsburgh; only with Crosby.” His and Letang’s last deals were designed specifically to keep the original core 3 together, as Crosby continues to insist. (Reportedly, Crosby rarely throws his weight around, preferring to let the chips fall where they may. This is one of those rare occasions where he leans heavily.) The only way I can see Malkin ditching the NHL to play in the KHL is if Dubas tries to trade him away from Crosby. Otherwise, I can’t see him willing to lose even a minute of possible play with his captain (and brother) of choice.
