   I believe that Lindy’s structure is going to make a HUGE difference in how our D core is perceived. Dahlin, Power, and Byram all have moments where they look lost. Having a crystal clear defensive structure fixes a lot of those problems. From interviews (I forget which player said this), it’s clear that even in the defensive zone Donny wanted guys to “make a play”. There’s a time and place for that for sure, but most of the time you just want to have full confidence as to where all of your teammates will be on the ice. It simplifies your decision making and minimizes poor decisions that lead to high-danger chances against.

   My point is that I think Dahlin gets judged a bit unfairly for being on a non-playoff team, but also for being on a team that didn’t do a good job of supporting him in his role. I think he jumps up this list if next year, even if his point totals were the exact same.

   It’s just reactions to last year. He wasn’t great last year. Forsling was. Hence the list, it’s whatever. We know how good he is.
