Swayman is asking for HOW MUCH?
Reports are coming out of Boston that Jeremy Swayman is asking for 10 million per season from the Boston Bruins for his next contract.
I am breaking down the news and giving my opinion on whether Jeremy Swayman is worth 10 million per season.

I think 10 million is too much. What do you think?
they've had ullmark for $5million.. and they traded him, what would you think the bruins would do lols
I am very happy with the Bruins trading Swayman.
Meanwhile people who actually deserve millions like like military in actual combat look on stunnedš
I said from the start they never should've dealt Linus until they has this guy signed. Now they're paying for it.
I hope this is just some kind of joke. No one would ever give him $10 mil a year. Who the "F" does he think he is?
10m would make him tied for the highest paid active goalie in the league with Bob (Price isn't playing so his 10.5 doesn't matter). Let's not forget Bob just came off a season where he was third in vezina voting and won a cup. Bob has also previously won the Vezina twice and I believe he's been in the top 5 voting 6 times. He's argueably the best active goalie in hockey hardware wise. 10m would put him over multiple cup winner, and vezina trophy winner, and conn smythe winner Vasilevskiy. Swayman has won nothing. The Bruins won the Presidents trophy mostly on the back of Ullmarks Vezina winning season, technically Swaymans name is on the Jennings trophy but again that was driven by Ullmarks vezina winning season. I think that Swayman has the potential to be an elite goalie. But he's never played 50 games in an NHL season. He's had those times every year where you go…aught ohh. Like last year people forget going into the Allstar break he was at .925. He finished the year at .916. That was a huge dropoff in the same period Ullmark went from a .909 to a .915 and it's what created the question of who should start going into the playoffs. Giving this kid a longterm deal would be a huge gamble. Giving him a long term deal at a huge cap hit could be franchise crushing.
A little too muchaybe 8.5
10 million is totally absurd and unrealistic. He has not won a Stanley Cup and if Boston management pays him over 6 million a year they are really stupid, period.
Swayman is asking for this much, because the bruins did him dirty in arbitration. People donāt forget !!
if Korpesalo have 4 mil he is probably worth 10. Dont understand trade for an so expensive backup…..if he signed a backup for 1-2 mil this would be easy task.
He would have to play his ass off for half that much. Trade his ass
Beating the leafs doesn't prove much!
You might have traded away the wrong goalie
Nylander got 6.9 per year
Yeah, heās on the fast track to getting run out of town. This is the city that doesnāt exactly take nicely to entitled athletes who want more than they deserve and donāt live up to expectations. Good luck Jeremy
Brad Marchand left HOW much money on the table so this kid could destroy the franchise out of selfish greed and entitlement? š¤¦āāļø
Here's my logic.
Last year he was worth 8.5-9 million a year.
So if cap space goes up, due to inflation, then the salaries MUST follow.
That being said. For the player that plays 60 minutes a game, and that must always be on top of his game, I say that if Bruins don't sign him, they will have to beat him during the season, because he WILL play for an NHL team.
It's always harder to give a big contract to a goalie, while hundreds of players don't deserve half their salary.
Pay or lose.
That's the NHL.
Btw, NHL is now the least popular pro sport in North America.
Even the WNBA are recording better numbers.
Bruins made a mistake. Ullmark because of his age would have gotten less years. Bruins should have offered both $7mil per (Ullmark x 4 or 5/Swayman x 6 or 7) & the first one to accept stayed while the other got traded before UFA started.
as a habs fan trust me you don't want any goalie making that kind of money.
For someone who hasn't achieved any milestones, he isn't in a position to earn 10 million. He doesn't have a Stanley Cup, no Vezna Trophy, hasn't played more than 60 games in a year (year after year), hasn't had a GAA in the low 2's year after year, and he is asking for 10 million? He's not worth that much at this stage of his career. You don't give that large a contract out for someone who hasn't proven himself as a full-time goalie.
Its rumors
Not a bruins fans but i've been looking for a bruins fans pov. I said anything over 8.5m is an overreach. Any thoughts?
9 million is reasonable but 10 million is outrageous?
That's ridiculous.
Let him walk
I can see it now, Sway let go for good return, returns to td garden gets shelled as Fans yell Swaaaayman!
You should pay him. Put him up and everything else behind as a prop up to him. The cap be damned.
I should point out, however, I'm a Leafs fan.
