  1. Strong arming Edm to try and meet a certain $$ amount. 9 points in last year's 38 reg season games. Broberg's 12 games, 2 points.

  2. What is he gon do make them cup winers he literally a loser going to a loser team the team will be like how they are for at least 3 years or more so edmonton did great why keep a player that isn't gonna be on the team long term if he did sign edmonton he would have played for 2 or 3 years

  3. some players want to win, others want the bag. He chose the bag.
Also want to give a big thank you to the edmonton organization for hiring the worst possible gm that will eventually collapse their team.

However, there is one way edmonton can get out of this. Give Columbus all the draft picks they want to take on nuse's contract since they now have the cap space to do it

  4. Holloway always seemed like an airhead to me; someone with a room temperature IQ. I think it's obvious to anyone who has watched enough interviews with the guy. I still like him as a player and I'm sure he'll do fine in St. Louis. Best of luck to him.

  5. At least we know how little the new management thought of Hollands picks. No surprise they didn’t match and since they knew St. Louis was going to do it makes it much more clear the club didn’t care if they left.

  6. Everyone who speculated Holloway regretted the offer sheet, is among stupidest people on the face of the earth. This channel is awful

  7. This is a strange way to cope with losing a player. Would you be sad to change companies for a salary that was half a million dollars more than you were asking for? He has more opportunities in St Louis, and the oilers haven't won anything in over 30 years. He's going to a better situation for more money. Not to mention the weather and tax situation. Just dumb nonsense. Imagine turning down Buchnevich for those two players just to lose them for a couple of kids that are 14 years old right now…..

  8. No issues against management. Business is business. Holloway’s name came up as expendable at this moment. This team is in a win now window not a wait and develop more and see.🤷

  9. David is correct. The Oilers are a win mode now team, and they have a very tight cap. Decision had to be made. Way too much money to unproven players and it is not the way the Oilers are going. We are not in a rebuilding mode. Look at Vegas they do not worry about their future players they go for the now and sell there drafts for proven players. This is what win now teams do.

  10. it is all on Holloway (and Broberg). Any company, let alone a "big" company lets themselves strong-armed. I said from DAY one of the offer-sheets, none will be matched. This is prevalent everywhere, not only in hockey. Unless you are top couple percent performer of an org, you cannot act like that. Gone, done, over. He should not have ridden the Broberg wave, he should not have associated with the Broberg mentality, cause he was in a different position.

  11. Think about it this way. Blues will have a lot of valuable 1st round picks in the next few years but each of them will only have a 30 to 60% chance of turning to a NHL player. The stats are always the same. Broberg and Holloway are proven NHL players already, regardless of whether they become stars, and the Blues got them for a far riskier second round pick. Bowman gets a handful of magic beans in return. Why would Bowman do this? there is a story here we haven't yet heard, and I'm sure it has everything to do with Bowman's ego.

  12. I was upset Oilers did not match, but later changed my mind, the Vancouver guy can take Hollaway place and the Oilers can get some PTOs and cheap Dmen who are still good players, besides its about winning the Cup THIS YEAR and then comtinue on to the next year. I mean I watch what I can afford not like Holland who put Oilers in this cap crutch.

  13. I don't think it's crazy that the Oilers didn't match just given where they are in the window, but I'm not sure how this can be seen as anything other than a mismanagement of assets. If you knew the offer sheets were coming before they were signed, it's malpractice not to trade those players for more than a 2nd and 2 3rds. Any other take is copium

  14. Holloway was…..Decent….with flashes of brilliance here and there….BUT???…Not skilled enough for the Oilers Top 6.
Not gritty, big or defensive enough for the bottom 6. …He never lived up to his hype. Look at his numbers.
So what does a team do?…Especially when other teams are all in for him?…(same goes for Broberg)
