  1. Of course the internet took "I'll get what I deserve" completely out of context to further run with the entitlement angle. I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing if he felt like tons of fans hated him. He seemed to relish it in Sweden.

  2. I don't get how jets fans are saying he is a problem and a cry baby just because he didn't sign with the Jets? He doesn't sound like a kid who thinks he automatically thinks he has a spot lol I'm excited for this kid

  3. Thank you DK! That's exactly what I meant with my comment a few days ago, but you put it much better. This young man has personality. He doesn't has to bring those things he did in Sweden into the NHL. Point is: he's thriving in a high stake (hostile) environment. I think someone with an expering contract has to love that 😉

  4. I find it interesting how a fan base can create a 'fantasy' of their players. I have no idea what this player is going to be. A lot of players say 'the right things' doesn't mean it turns out to be anything or their actions consistent with the impression of their words. I can provide a long list of players who entered the NHL with hype that turned into nothing. Not saying that will happen to this guy. If he was that much of a stud, other players would have made trades for him. The best offer the Jets got was the Pens and Yager. Let's not elevate the kid to being something he's not, the next captain of the penguins, and let's relate to him for what he is….an unknown….like all players until they play and play a few years. He will get tons of chances I think to be good. Obviously Dubas likes him and I think Sullivan will like him

  5. man you hit the nail on the head with the comatose years. There has been no energy in that team for a while now. I just hope Sullivan can utilize him properly

  6. We finally have a legit, high end prospect which brings hope for the future and NOW.

Ideally, if DOC and He (or one of the 20 fwds Dubas signed) can make the case for top six, that would allow Dubas to trade a guy like Rakell. Trading Rakell, would not only get picks/prospect/player in return, but would also free up some cap space to allow Dubas ability to help broker a deal with cap space while getting back more picks.

  7. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say "um" as much in a press conference.. he said some good stuff, but god he needs to learn how to articulate himself without saying um!

  8. Do people not realize this kid is 20? Personally, I welcome some young "arrogance" to shake up the monotony.

  9. DOC, Bunting, McGroarty,. Lizotte. We could have at least one of these guys on each line. That's absolutely needed.

  10. Thanks DK. Rutger McGroarty, Get what he deserves and he will work hard. He sounds really good to me. It's players like him that are needed. Great show DK

  11. He's not ready. College players don't generally have great success going right to the NHL and the Penguins cannot afford to rush him to the NHL. They're barely a contender for a WC spot and rushing this guy isn't going to help.

  12. You only get what you give. That being said, let's see what the young guy brings. Talk is cheap, and it takes money to buy the whiskey.

  13. The trade worked out for everyone. Rutger doesn't wanna play in Winnipeg, he was professional, open. Wpg is getting a Canadian all-star from an elite league (WHL) a Prairie kid, playing one province away from his home in Saskatchewan. Jets are pushing for a cup. If Wpg wants a Stanley cup they need more Canadians. Wpg has too many Americans. Rutger is going to develop into an all-star replacing Gino. He'll be ready in 2 or 3 years when the Pens finally make the playoffs.
