hearing this had happened and how it went down was already depressing… but hearing how dismissive and unapologetic the drunk was and how he was acting like HE was inconvenienced by what happened at the hearing… it legit made my blood boil. prohibition starts making more and more sense when assholes like that exist.
I give my condolences to the Gaudreau family, the Columbus Blue Jackets, and their fans. There is nothing that can replace Johnny Gaudreau, or his brother.
I remember 2 years ago when the isles were one of the “finalists” in the Gaudreau sweepstakes (only to find out they allegedly never were) and despite being division rivals I thought to myself, you know what? Good for them. As an isles fan I’m used to free agents not signing here, at least it was Columbus I remember thinking. I can’t imagine what the family is going through. Family and friends coming into town expecting a wedding and actually came for a funeral. Beyond belief tragic.
the audacity to drive drunk is astronomical. i cant understand why you would do it. uber, lyft, a friend, or maybe just dont get wasted. RIP to this young man Johnny Hockey, and his brother Matthew.
I’m from NJ. And let me tell you, this state is shaken to its core. I literally would stay up to 10PM to watch Calgary games just because of him. I even made sure to get tickets to the lightning game the week i was going to see a bucs game because Calgary would be in Amalie. I was praying he wouldn’t go to a rival during FA. He was one of my favorite players. I don’t think I’ve been this shaken by a famous persons death ever
When I saw someone post about this on Instagram I thought they were playing some unfunny joke to get clicks but then I saw Columbus post about them the nhl and my heart just went numb I still can’t believe this has happened rip
Columbus will recover (But will never forget and will always be devastated) it's his family I am really concerned about. Not burying one child, but two.
Such a tragic situation, I'm a Columbus fan unfortunately and I'm lost for words and I can only imagine how the family is taking this. I can't remember anything so tragic in sports in recent memory, absolutely tragic
Im still really hurting. And then i take what i feel as a longtime flames fan; not getting to say sorry, not getting to cheer him again, not seeing him and Sean together again, everything. I take that and multiply it 100 fold to imagine how his family feels, his wife, his two young kids, his mom and dad who we as Calgarians accepted into our lives and loved like neighbors, his siblings, as well as Sean and Kevin Hayes, amongst many others. Im just…..very hurt. I was mad when he left us. Now im sad. And ashamed. I'm sorry Johnny. You and Matthew, please rest in peace. We love you both
Not a blue jacket or calgary fan, wasn't a huge Gaudreau fan, but the moment I found out what happened I almost cried. What a tragedy and the circumstances around it were awful.
I'm not the biggest hockey fan in the world, but whenever I hear Johnny's name on the news I instantly know what I'm gonna see, a big play. He was so talented, lives taken way too soon. Screw drunk drivers man. Thoughts go out to his family.
So sad to lose Johnny Hockey. As a Canucks fan he was always the best part of competing against Calgary when he was there. While he never got a chance to truly show us what he could be, this event reminds me of Luc Bourdon.
Its just so heartbreaking I’m at a loss for words.
If it Cant be Vancouvers turn to lift the cup then by god I hope its the Blue Jackets. The team, the fans, everyone in the organization deserves it to their core
The hockey world loves tou Columbus The hockey world will miss you Johnny Hockey
I hadn't heard the news until I clicked on this video…I made it about 45 seconds in and started bawling. This is tragedy personified. Rest in Peace, Johnny Hockey.
Another thing, Matthew's wife was Pregnant as well. Now their Child will grow up without a father. I don't know how I would cope with something like that as his wife.

Great video tree, rest in peace Johnny Hockey. Speechless

That Steve Chiasson reference is in slightly bad taste, since he was driving under influence. Fortunately he only ended up killing himself.
The Hockey Guy had a meet up yesterday- he said lots of people were quietly asking “where do the Jackets go from here?!”….
This was a great tribute. They'll be missed dearly

I know a lot of people who get drunk I don’t I’m okay with being designated driver
This is an utterly devastating blow to a sport that I consider to be one of the best there is.
RIP the Goudreau brothers, they will be sorely missed.
Thank you for your kind words tree.
Thank you Tree. Columbus is hurting in a way I can't describe. As a fan who also worked at the Arena-I feel totally lost about this.
As a father of 2 young kids this hurts smh

Drunk driving is honestly the most pussy shit a man can do, or at least way up there at the top of the list

Of course this shit channel would use a tragedy to farm views
That Game 7 goal man…
Still can't believe this happened and is real. My condolences to the whole Gaudreau family on their loss! #RIPJohnnyHockey
If there’s one thing about UTree casual viewers have to realize: he know when to be serious. Thank you for this video, man.
Far too many lives get taken by the selfish act of drunk driving. He was a great opponent, as a oilers fan ill miss seeing him play. RIP
