Our newest first rounder, Danford breaks the top 5 in the PPP ranking in his first season. I was a lot lower on him in my own ranking, he didn’t crack my top ten, and while I hope to be proven wrong for that take I’m a bit concerned that Danford’s high ranking is a product of Cowan’s success than his own projection. He’s an intriguing player for sure, and defensive D aren’t a strength of our pool, but I’m gonna need to see a good season from him before I’m comfortable ranking him above guys like Niemelä and Grebyonkin. He plays in Oshawa, so hopefully Leafs Nation can get out to see some games and get a taste of the Danford for themselves.

He’s going to be top 2 if not top 1 a year from now depending on if Cowan graduates.

Really got a good feeling about him. His strengths are what we’ve lacked a lot and the way he plays gives me hope he translates well to the NHL. I know he’s a few years out at least, but I expect he’ll flourish rather then falter.
I’ll try to get out to a 67’s game when Oshawa’s in town and cheer him on.
