I was at the game where Kulemin scored his 30th goal and to date that’s his only 30 goal season, what a throwback.

Being said, that’s so on-brand for Ottawa.

    Such a Sens move lol

What did they do, have Staios go through his contact list and text ex-teammates to come out to fill out their preseason NHL roster? lol

  6. I saw the name pop up and thought “surely this is Nikolay Jr.”, but nope!

    Good luck Kuley!

I’ll never forget his first goal for some reason, was hype

Kulemin – Grabo – MacArthur was a beast line, and such a bright spot on those crap Leafs teams.
After Kule’s 30 goal season I legit predicted he would go nuclear the next season for 90 pts, pretty sure I picked him up early in my fantasy. Never happened unfortunately.

Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time…a long time.

There used to be a guy in here that would spell out his full Russian name everytime they commented on him.

  11. I’m surprised the Oilers didn’t pick him up.

So back in 2014 he and his wife attempted to gain Canadian citizenship, were denied, went to an appeal, can’t seem to find any resolution of that, happened back in 2018.

He had a few interesting comments during that period.

“Russia has given me a lot but I now consider Canada home and my children deserve the opportunity to live in a free and democratic country.”

“Our children were born in Canada, and this is where we would like to raise them,” he said. “I enjoy being a part of this community. I love working with kids, seeing them develop and enjoy the game more. I am hoping that the next citizenship judge issues a positive decision, and look forward to returning to Canada.”

I imagine that his choosing of Ottawa, and specifically an opportunity in Canada, has a lot to do with them most likely attempting to gain Canadian citizenship once more, if they did not receive it following that appeal in 2018. Also a rumour is floating out there that his son will be playing in the GTHL this coming season.
